Breakfast Logic

"So let me just see if I have this thing figured," you said, putting your coffee mug down on the table next to the plate of blueberry pancakes that Kami had made for the three of you, "Close your eyes and imagine having sex with each other," you watch as the two women smirk, "now imagine having sex with a man."

"Ew," Jasmine's face went sour, "Do we have to?"

"Gross," Kami agreed.

"Okay, now think about having sex with me."

"Oh yes please!" Kami said gleefully.

"Me first!" Jasmine giggled.

"But I'm a man," you said, hitting the same road block you've been hitting all morning.

"Yeah, but..." Jasmine said, obviously not understanding what you're trying to say.

"But you're our man," Kami cut her off.

"I don't get it."

"I don't know why you're so worried about it, sweetheart," Kami said, looking cute in the apron that she had hardly taken off since they had brought you home the night before, "Other men don't appeal to us. You're special."

"Your slightest look easily will unclose me, though I have closed myself as fingers," Jasmine said, as if quoting a poem, "John, you're, I don't know, I want to say the exception to the rule, but that cheapens it. You're so much more. You're what we needed when we didn't know we lacked."

Jasmine, once again, had floored you with her eloquence. There was a flash of something in Kami's eye, just for a moment, as she looked at her wife. Jealousy? Not really, but it was so quick that you couldn't catch it. Almost immediately she turned to you with a warm smile.

"And what you said last night, about other lesbians," you still tried to probe. Something had to make sense eventually. In the back of your mind a phrase about looking a gift horse in the mouth kept rolling around, warning you that if you had two incredibly sexy women in love with you, why would you risk it with too many questions?

"Absolutely," Jasmine said, "You deserve all the love you can get, and I'm sure there are plenty of lesbians who would love to meet you!"

"But maybe we could give you some time alone with them," Kami said, turning red from her cheeks to the tips of her ears, "I have to be honest with you that it's a little embarrassing thinking of all those women judging us."

Jasmine was nodding solemnly, looking down at the table, the flowers of her words unspoken.

"For what?"

"We're gay!" Kami said, "Honey, nothing is ever going to change that. And to have all those women thinking that we've walked away from our lifestyle, our friends, what we believe in, it's almost too much to bear."

"It's bad enough with Kami here," Jasmine said quietly, "what she must think of me."

"Or you me!"

There was an awkward silence, then...

"Oh please don't think that we regret being with you in any way!" Jasmine said, gripping your hand, "Nothing can make my love any less important, any less profound."

"Mine either!" Kami said, gripping the other hand, "and forget about what Jasmine said. You deserve her. You should be with her! She probably thinks terrible things about me, but I'm willing to live with that for your love."

"And Kami must think that I'm the worst type of person, but you should have every bit of her love," Jasmine said, "Be with her! Let her love you!"

Neither women, no matter how many ways you attempted to address the subject, could grasp the illogic, the paradoxes, that they were trapped in. And so, resigned to a fate of two amazing, sexy, attentive lesbians deeply in love you with, you gripped their hands back.

"This is turning out to be the most interesting Spring Break I've ever had!"
