“The EMTs are taking your friends to the hospital to make sure they’re okay. They inhaled a lot of smoke.” The other officer told Shauna “you’re quite the hero.”

The two cops drove her back to the hotel and Shauna lay in bed thinking the person she thought she knew who should have been lying in the other bed. She and Jessie had been inseparable and now... Jessie was wanted by the police for trying to kill Patty.

“You fucking vage...” Shauna said “what the hell is wrong with you..”

She got up and began to dig through Jessie’s bag, but there was nothing there but changes of clothes.

Shauna lay back down, unable to sleep. Even though she’s bared the door, she kept thinking Jessie would just walk in any second.

Patty and Billy were released the next morning, no worse for the wear.

“My boss gave me the next several days off.” Billy said “You want to just crash at my place?”

“Yeah... I don’t want to be anywhere else anyway...”

“In hindsight...” Billy said as he and Patty lay on Billy’s bed togther “that was the WORST second date ever...”

“Well, at least we can enjoy a third date...” Patty said, leaning in to kiss him.

“Yeah... you know, the joke is usually gay boys move in on the second date... take that over having thier boyfriend’s friend try to kill them...”

“Are there any halfway decent college around here?” Patty asked.

“Why...?”

“Maybe I’d like to keep to tradition, in a sense...”

“You want to move in with me?”

“Billy... I love you so much... I’d move to the moon if it meant I could be with you for the rest of my life.”

“Wow you are such a romantic...”

“All thanks to you.” Patty told him with a peck on the cheek.

“You turning into a Lipstick Gay on me?” Billy asked

“I guess so.” Patty said before giving a flirty “Do you want me to?”

“Hell yes.” Billy said.

Shauna was shocked when she saw Patty later that day at the police station.
