A Broken World

This story takes place in a world identical to ours, except that magic exists, and with it demons and other such creatures that are made of it. Magic is however very rarely encountered in the world, and therefore is widely believed to be nonexistent.

A short background on this magic:

Magic is the ability to modify the world around you by using intense concentration, and measure of magical energy. The main barrier for normal people to use magic is the fact that to cast a spell you need be able to concentrate on the indented effect so completely that you start to belive that it is true, and then your magical enegy will make it so. This concentration requires years of practice to perform in normal life, as the millions of tiny distractions will break the concentration of the average mage and stop the spell.

A short background on demons:

Demons are beings made of magic that are an embodiment of an intense emotion. They are called when an emotion (such as anger) infuses an area in high concentrations. This anger then manifests itself in the form of a massive demon. If the demon is summoned by a single person, they have the chance to posses that person. To do this they need to make the person become so consumed by the emotion that they lose all else, and therefore generally take form in a shape that is taken from the deepest depths of the summoners mind, designed to evoke the emotion so strongly they are consumed by it. Demonic possession means **** for the summoner, as the demon destroys their mind.

Not all demons are evil however. Some demons (such as the pride and love demons) join with the summoner in a symbiotic relationship, however these demons are the rarest to be summoned, and therefore generally unseen.
