Drinking to success

After cleaning up the wreckage, you and the others decide to go out and have a celebratory drink. After all, you managed to impress the Forgefather, despite the destruction of the machine. Hayley leads the way, and as the five of you walk, Helja slips her hand into yours. She smiles at you when you glance at her.

Ever observant, Marin chuckles as she notices. “You two are adorable, already at the hand holding in public stage!”

You laugh. “To be fair, I’m also at the ‘building an extension on my house’ stage.”

Sanni chuckles. “I hope you put up soundproof walls, or everyone will be up late.”

Helja blushes. “I’m not THAT loud…am I?”

Hayley giggles. “You definitely are! But it’s so hot we don’t mention it.”

Helja looks up at you, and you shrug. “I mean…they aren’t wrong…although in my house that just means that we’ll have extra visitors.”

The girls all laugh as you head into the bar, soon finding a table and ordering some drinks. Hayley smiles at you. “So, how soon can we move in?”

You grin. “Eager, aren’t we? They’ll be finished in a couple days, apparently.”

Helja nods. “Good, I’m pretty eager too. It’s only been a few days, and I’m already craving more…”

Marin raises an eyebrow. “Well, I was interested before, but now I’m really interested. Greg, you’re free tomorrow, right?”

You chuckle. “I am, yes. And so is Lylah.”

Marin laughs. “Good! I’ll pick you up. We can hang out at my place, see what happens.”

You nod, and you notice that Sanni has gone quiet, stirring her drink as she looks at you. She smiles when you make eye contact, giving you a wink. But before you can say anything to her, Helja speaks up. “Technically, we’re all free tomorrow. We’ll be taking a few days off, to wait for supplies to rebuild, and so Hayley and I can move.”

Marin laughs. “I’m assuming you want some help moving?”

Hayley nods. “If you wouldn’t mind?”

Marin nods, but it’s Sanni who speaks. “I’ll help too. I want to be there.”

Helja looks surprised, but smiles. “Of course. More help is…helpful.”

Everyone laughs, and you make eye contact with Sanni again.
