Chapter 8 by The-Drunken-Bandit The-Drunken-Bandit

Who do you call?

A Real Ghostbuster...

You look towards the screen, Where Desiree was soon being overwhelmed by the sheer number of misfit minions at Prime Evil's Disposal and you know what you have to do as you reach into your pocket for the belt buckle once more and grip it tightly.

You know what you have to do.

You quickly move over to the personnel lockers that rest next to the equipment rack that held the proton pack and quickly opened them up to check their contents and found what you had hoped laid within. As within the steel lockers was the classic and Iconic tan ghostbusters jumpsuit with boots and pads. All of which laid neatly in a folded pile of clothes sealed in plastic.

Quickly tearing off the plastic, you move as quick as you can to gear up and change outfits. Ditching your simple outfit of gym shorts and a white t-shirt, for the standard ghostbusters uniform. Which consisted of the iconic tan jumpsuit with no nametag, black rubber boots, grey arm and knee pads, black rubber gloves, and a simple white ghostbusters logoed t-shirt. As you rush to put on the outfit you hear the automated systems once again chime in alerting to its count down.

"Warning! Emergency Jump will occur in 20 minutes"

You were running out of time, you and Desiree as a quick glance to the central computer gave you a look at how the Genie ghost was doing, and needless to say, it wasn't good. Desiree was holding her own, but the sheer volume of minions was wearing her down as they could easily rush her from all angles, and more than once she had to throw them off. Even her ability to fly wasn't much help in the face of so many enemies, as the sheer amount of them prevented her from even trying to fly. Her intangibility wasn't much help either as all it took was just a simple zap from Prime evil to **** her back into the corporal world. Which the mad rip-off of Skeletor could do with ease considering he was standing back and watching this all unfold with a wicked grin on his electric bridge of a mouth.

You needed to hurry, Desiree was running out of steam and lord only knows what Prime is going to do to her. That said with your new attire equipped, you quickly moved to pick up the nearby proton pack on the rack. You flummoxed for a second as you felt the sheer weight of the over one hundred pound device as you began to strap it on. It took you a second to adjust to the heavy piece of nuclear-powered equipment, during which you made yourself familiar with the controls and more importantly, how to turn it on.

Which was rather simple considering all the controls were linked to the proton wand, the main weapon that would shoot forth a proton stream when activated. Which makes sense considering Egon and Ray had to make the system rugged and as simple as possible to understand when they handed it off to Venkman. All it really takes it a moment to start up the system and whir the particle accelerator to life.

Yet, the proton pack was not the only piece of equipment that laid upon the rack as there were several other signature tools of the ghostbusters trade that you quickly grabbed and equipped to your utility belt. Which speaking of, bore the belt buckle that came with your wedding gift proudly.

The other tools you grabbed were iconic to the ghostbusters. Such as the PKE meter, which seems to have been converted to a PDA/communicator/Smartphone of sorts. The Iconic Ghost Trap, the square boxy black and yellow tool used to capture and contain ghosts. A backup radio that seems to be linked with the PKE meter and is mounted to the shoulder strap of the proton pack, and of course a military-grade flashlight that rested on the other said shoulder strap.

Finally, there were the Ecto-goggles that had an interesting feature that you quickly discovered when you put them on to test them. As the goggles are meant to id and find any hiding ghosts, but now there seems to be a new feature installed into the goggles called [Examine.]

([Examine] is a feature at the end of some chapters that will allow you to take a closer look at certain Objects, Places, and People. This is where the more descriptive elements of the story will be housed from here on out along with possible clues, hints, and interesting facts.)

Try it out now or skip the second half of the story!

What do you pick?
