The chubby male mall cop in uniform up ahead had stopped and held open his arms in an attempt to chatch me. I feigned a left but went right and side stepped him. I continued running and gave up trying to cover myself anymore. I was out for speed. The patrolman was still after me as I gjanced back. When I turned to look forward again, I ran into a large group of women in softball uniforms with numbers on their shirts. They had baseball caps tilted back on their heads. There faces lit up as I drew near. I tried to get around them but they were hooting and howling at me with glee while several attempted to slap by bare bottom as I zoomed by.

The yelps the softball women let out attracted a lot more unwanted attention from both sides of the mall. I heard a whistle let out and a yell from somewhere behind me.

Three ladies exiting a store stopped just in time to have me run right in front of them. They stared at me like I was crazy. Two pretty mother ahead parted their baby strollers to get out of my way as I sprinted forward.

I was getting tired and a quick glance back to the police officer told me he was too. I considered ducking into one of the large department stores but then I would have to deal with their security people. Up ahead, about five hundred yards was the end department store. I just needed to get through there to be on the other side of the mall and closer to my car.

I had little hope of making it through this week without an arrest, but I had to keep trying. Then I saw a few women from my work as they strolled along toward me but had not caught sight of me yet.

Jenny from accounting, had short blonde hair and liked it when I flirted with her. Her friend Dana worked in logistics and they often went shopping on their lunch break. Jessie with her dark hair curled at the shoulders always reminded me of Wonder Woman. And she was that good looking too. I would die if any of these women saw me, yet I was headed right for them. I could not duck down and hide with the cop after me.

A group of men and women were moving along faster then the chatty women from work and even passed them. I decided that I could crouch down and keep moving using the group as a shield. When I did this, I kept trying to get a look at the women from work through breaks in the group that passed, but I should have been looking where I was going.

I ran into a display that was sticking out from a store and knocked over a thousand plastic empty water bottles. I fell and the group that was my shield moved past. The ruckus I made caused Jenny to turn back and look. She recognized me and nudged Dana and Jessie. I staggered up and tore off in the direction I had first headed. My life at work was over probably anyway after missing so many days of work without calling in. Now, I would never be able to face those women.
