Lauren goes for it

Lauren looked around. Okay, they weren't letting her go. So what could she do? Try to run away, make a scene? She knew Britney and Charlotte weren't going to let her off so easy. So what if she played along? What if she tried out and won? Wouldn't that be the ultimate victory, in front of the whole school? Lauren's ego welled up. She could do this!

"Fine." Lauren said, a cocky grin emerging on her face. She put her hands on her hips.

"Oh good!" Charlotte said into the mic. "Lauren got over her nerves and is going to do the tryout!"

Everyone clapped enthusiastically. They were thrilled to see Lauren the beautiful ice queen try out for the cheerleading team.
