Yes, they do actually?

You, Bell, and Rhapsody might have gotten lost a few times, and had to spend an hour up in a tree to avoid a horde of Rattatas, and another hour avoiding a roaming group of trainers.

But shortly after sunrise, with the coming dawn, you all finally reach the border of Viridian City. You are all dirty, with sore feet, hungry, and exhausted from the lack of sleep, but you made it. Now to find the Pokecenter, get a room, take a shower, and sleep. On a second thought, the shower can wait, sleep first.

Now you just have to get there “So Rhapsody, where’s the Pokemon Center?”

Rhapsody looks at you, a look of confusion on her face “I thought you knew? I have been following you.”

“Aren’t you from Viridian City?”

“I thought you were from Viridian City!?”

“Well fuck!” Ok, don’t panic. A quick look at Rhapsody shows that she is already starting to panic so you absolutely can NOT panic. You feel your Bulbasaur rub against your leg, causing you to look down at her. She gives you a big encouraging smile. You kneel and pet her on the head “Thanks Bell, I needed that.”

Things could be worse; things have been worse. Like when you had to do the walk of shame after losing to Blue. You take a deep to calm yourself “Ok, I have been to Viridian City a few times.” As a child, and that was years ago, but Rhapsody doesn’t need to know that. “We just need to ask for directions. That’s all.”

Arceus must be watching over you because while there aren’t a lot of people out this early there are some, and you are able to find a kindly middle-aged woman who is able to give you general directions towards the Pokemon Center.

Unfortunately, it is on the other side of the City. Which by the time you and Rhapsody finally find and arrive at the Pokemon Center you are almost ready to just collapse and sleep on the ground.

But you make it.

Practically on autopilot at this point you walk into the Pokemon Center and towards the service desk. Seated at the desk there is as young pretty woman in what you recognize as a nurse uniform, quietly sipping on a cup of morning coffee and reading a book. The sound of the doors opening causes the nurse to look up and notice your group. To her credit she doesn’t seem to give much of a reaction as you approach, or maybe the sight of exhausted young trainers simply doesn’t faze her anymore. She continues sipping on her coffee while she waits for you to approach. When you get close enough, she calmy says “Good morning. How can I help you?”

You simply answer “Room.”

The nurse slowly puts down her coffee “I will need both of your Pokemon Trainer IDs please.” You and Rhapsody hand over your Pokegears to the nurse. She scans them and returns them “One moment please” She reaches into a drawer and hands you a card key with a number on it. “Room 105, the room number is on the card in case you forget. If you lose the card come tell me and I can give you a new one.”

“Thanks” Card in hand, you and Rhapsody shuffle to the room. You still have enough presence of mind to make sure Bell hasn’t gotten lost along the way and is still following you.

Key Card in hand you find your room. Finally, we can get some rest. You open the door and all of you enter the small room and take a quick look around. There is a single bed, a couch, a fridge, a small kitchen area, and a small bathroom.

Rhapsody heads straight for the bed and plops down on the it “FINNALY! I don’t think I have ever been this tired in my entire life! I feel like I could sleep for a week.”

You, stare at Rhapsody as she stretches herself out on the mattress, already fast asleep.

On the single bed, the only bed.
