Dawn Breaks

You sit up, and you see that nothing seems to have changed. You look around, only to notice dawn breaks outside of your window. It seems to be morning, and as you quickly open your app again, you see that Erica has begun to stir, waking up. It seems like their sleep is tied to the magic in some way. You had been knocked out by the app last night, so that makes sense. You guess that the app wanted to give you some time to explore it before everyone woke up.

You stand up. You want to check on everybody, see how they're doing. You get dressed in your normal clothes, before heading to the kitchen. You decide to brew some coffee. You could use some after your entire world was shaken up.

You weren't sure how to feel. You had felt like you understood everything yesterday, but now you didn't. You still seemed to have some advantage to the others, and yet... Why did it feel like another burden? What did it all mean now? The only thing you knew was that you did not know nearly enough.

Rebecca is the first out, dressed in her sweats. "Hey, Rex, I see you woke up early. Did you hear that bell?" You nod, unsure of what else to say. "That's odd though, there's no bell near here. No cathedral or clock tower... Maybe somebody played a prank on us with speakers or maybe there's something else happening. I also could've sworn I heard it last night, but that might've been a dream. It's weird, I don't remember falling asleep either. Well, whatever, it is early, so I was planning on going on my morning walk early."

You take your cup of coffee and blow on it. "Alright, have a good walk." You smile at her, trying to figure out what it all means yourself. You guess that is by design. Nobody knows what's going on, so you don't need to lie to them quite as much. Maybe it did get this wish from your subconscious...

You are broken from your thoughts by a scream, super close to you.
