Carefully Travel Through the Darkness

Well obviously, camping out in the wilderness is a dumb idea. Who knows what might happen?! A wild Pokemon could attack you in your sleep. Or a mob of Trainers could find you while you slept. If your camp site is found by some Trainers, they might just rob your camp, if you are lucky. They could also do worse to you, such as what Blue did to you. So that is NOT an option!

Come to think of it, traveling by yourself is looking like a VERY bad idea. Maybe you should find someone to travel with? Or train your Pokemon to keep watch while you sleep? How did Mom deal with traveling along? Or right, she had Dad. Maybe you should have asked Jake if he would be willing to come along? You enjoyed his company enough, and sharing a tent with him. Maybe if you called him he could meet up with you in Viridian City...

NO! Get you head out of the gutter! Besides, if you traveled with Jake there is no way you wouldn’t end up pregnant. Mom at least didn’t get pregnant until she was 20, with three badges. You don’t think you could look her in the eye if you couldn’t even manage one badge. You will just have to find someone else to travel with, a GIRL, to travel with.

Besides, none of that is in the here or now. Right now, you need to make your way towards Viridian City. Yes, it is dark, but that just means you will have to be EXTRA careful to watch your step. Sure, that means you will be traveling extra slow, but long sleepless nights are just part of the Pokemon Journey Experience! Once you reach Viridian City you can spend the next few days sleeping. Mom always said the Pokemon Centers had pretty good accommodations for traveling trainers.

So here you are, slowly making your way through the wilderness of Route 1 while you carry Bell in your arms. Sure, you could put the Bulbasaur back into her Pokeball, but than you would be left all alone in the darkness, and honestly the last thing you want is to be left alone right now. Yes, traveling along the main road would be faster. But the main road is just where everyone expects trainers to be traveling, and while you have a lot of faith in Bell, you have only had Minnie for a few days and Nicky for a few hours. You don’t really have a choice but to remain traveling slowly and carefully while avoiding the main road.

Thankfully the Moon is out, providing some light as you travel. You consider taking out your flashlight but that would just let others find you easier. But that doesn’t mean your nerves aren’t on edge, every animal call, every snapping twig, every rustling branch, puts you more and more on edge. Bell wraps some of her vines around you, apparently as nervous as you are. You respond by gripping onto her tighter as you continue to slowly make your way towards your destination.

You hear the very distinct sound of multiple people talking and you instantly drop to the ground. You can’t quite make out what they are saying but you can hear people. You remain as still as you listen to the voices; they don’t seem to be moving at all or making any effort to keep themselves quiet.

Your first instinct is to move away from the sounds, after all isn’t that why you have been hiding in the first place? But you then you hear the distinct sound of a girl crying out and your blood runs cold. You have a pretty good idea of what is going on. Can you just walk away and let it happen? Is there anything you can do? Could you live with yourself if you did nothing?

Back and forth your thoughts race as you are faced with this dilemma? What do you do?
