Vanessa is lying

The truth was, Vanessa had this all planned. SHE had the dresses, plus the other purchases on her mother card. She was simply sick of her sister, and had come up with a perfect scheme to frame her and take her down a peg. Okay, frame her sister AND get herself some fancy clothes in the process!

So, about a week ago she'd 'borrowed' her mother's credit card and made purchases. Of course, her mother would think the daughter with 10,000 dollars of credit card debt had done it, but for once Lauren was innocent! It was the perfect setup, Vanessa was quite proud of herself.

"That... that inconsiderate, thoughtless brat!" Her mother sputtered, leaping up to her feet. She jumped to her feet and marched into Lauren's room. As soon as she entered she saw it: her credit card, sitting right there on the vanity next to Lauren's laptop! Of course, Vanessa had planted it there as soon as she heard her mother mumbling about the missing card.

"I can't believe it..." Michelle picked up the card, hand shaking with rage. "That little... after all I've done for her!"

"What are you going to do mom?" Vanessa asked, trying not to grin.
