Broken wall

"Miss Hara will join us for a few weeks. I heard you're living at Mr.Doe's house." Kana nods at her, it seems like she just wants to get this over with.

"Miss Walker can you please move to the back of the class?" She looks at the student next to me.

"But Miss Gonzalez I won't see the board if I move further back!" She tries to interject politely.

"Miss Walker!" The girl looks at you hatefully, you don't know what to tell her. She stands up and moves to the back of the classroom.

Great, you made an enemy of the class representative without doing anything, and if it wasn't enough Kana then sits next to you, as you cross sight she grimaces. Why does everyone you encounter hate or love you without in-between?

You spend the next hours thinking about your situation, you've decided to fix everything, but for that, you might need some advice. As the bell rings signifying the end of class, you leave immediately. From now on you won't let any chances of creating more misunderstanding show up.

You arrive at the cafeteria and you see Jessica already installed at a table you bring your plate and sit in front of her.

"Hey Jessica." You start.

"Hey John! What's up? I heard you're not feeling well this morning." She tells you worried.

"That was nothing important. Not to change the subject but I have something in mind and I wanted to ask your opinion."

"Sure, go on, I'm not sure I'll be able to help you though."

"This week-end, I read a story about someone who inadvertently spread rumors, and he didn't know but every rumor he spread becomes true. Now he wants to fix it. How would you go about it?" You wait for an answer.

She strokes her jaw while thinking about what to say.

"Well, first of all I'm not sure I would like to fix things..." You look at her with curiosity.

"I mean, if I discovered I had some strange power, I would use it for profit, isn't it overpowered ? It feels like it could be some great power fantasy."

"Hum... Yeah but if you had to fix what you already did?" You insist.

"It would be quite hard wouldn't it? If my rumors really became true then it would confirm them to be true. Which in turn would make it harder to deny them again."

You sigh, it doesn't help you a lot.

"But hey, this does sound like an interesting story to read! Send me the link when you can!" She asks innocently. It makes you shiver.

"Hum... Sure, I'll send it to you later... If I don't forget..." You lie to her.

"You're not forgetting something about this weekend?" You think back to your date with Ashley. Does she know about that?

"Wh-what are you talking about?"

"Come on, you know... The girl who moved to your house!"

"Ah! That! Well, it seems like she doesn't like me very much." Jessica is looking at something behind you. As you follow her gaze you see Kana passing next to you. It looks like she's ready to throw her plate on your head.

"I can see that! Damn she looks ready to kill you! What did you do to her?"

"N-nothing!" She looks at you doubtfully, you're certainly not the best liar.

"And what did you do to her?" You turn around again, this time, you're face to face with Vera Walker, the very girl that hates you because of Kana.

"I promise you I did nothing to her-" You're interrupted as someone launches themselves at you. Ashley apparently missed you. She sits next to you but doesn't let go of your arm. She looks at Jessica.

"Honey who's that girl and what were you two talking about?"
