What do Evan and Sakura do?
Inspect the Statue
After comparing notes, Evan and Sakura were in agreement that this chamber was odd, especially with the lack of any clues on how to open the door. Evan suggests they both inspect the statue, he figured it was the best place to find any clues. The two began inspecting the statue, the stonework was so flawless no tool marks could be seen, assuming it was crafted using the tools of artisans and not magic. To Evan's knowledge, even magic users would have a difficult time with working the finer details. Of course, there was always the possibility it was both the work of artisan's tools and magic. Due to the nature of the stonework, the whole thing looked as if it was practically flawless.
Evan and Sakura moved carefully around the statue, investigating every square inch of the statue that they can. After a few minutes, Evan notices something odd about the statue, its ears look more elvish than the last time he looked. Evan quickly brought his discovery to Sakura, the two quickly moved to a position where they could better see the statue's ears, almost as soon they both looked from their new position, Evan and Sakura witnessed the ears on the statue literally shift to a reflection of Sakura's own ears scaled up to the statue's size.
"I think that's our clue," said Sakura.
"Or at least one of them," said Evan, "since we're two different races, I don't think the statue's ears mean the door opening for the one with the matching ears, I haven't seen anything to indicate the door opened with any of the ear changes."
"Most likely," said Sakura, "there's something on the statue, or at least connected to it in this room, that will allow us to lock what ears it has."
"This is probably a statue of someone, or likely a deity," said Evan, "which means we have to have the statue match the kind of ears that figure has or is said to have."
