Samara has an answer

After a pleasant evening, and an even better night, you wake up with a naked goblin on your chest once again. With the usual protests, Lynn let’s you get out of bed. Once again, she cuddles your pillow once you leave, and you smile at the adorable goblin as she falls back asleep.

You, however, have an appointment with a pair of Lilim this morning. Kali greets you as you grab a quick breakfast. “Samara said she would have an answer for us today, Josh. What are you planning to do if she refuses to help us?”

You sigh. “Nothing. She’ll stay a prisoner until the demon lord is dead. Then we try again. Even if she accepts, we can’t remove the null collar. It’s too risky, we don’t know how much influence he could have without the block in place.”

Kali nods. “I know. I was just a little bit worried you might decide to kill her…”

You walk over and hug her, and she smiles. “I promise, Kali, I promise that I will do everything I can to keep her alive.”

Kali kisses you. “That’s all I need to hear. Thank you, Josh.”

The two of you head down to Samara’s cell. When you walk in, she’s pacing by the wall, and looks at you as you and Kali walk in. She looks nervous, an expression that sits strangely on her face. “I was just wondering how long you would wait to show up. Thank you for giving me time to think.”

You nod. “Kali says that you would have an answer for me. I don’t mean to pressure you, but I’ve been under some stress lately, and I’d like to resolve this one way or another.”

Kali speaks up. “Samara…I want you to know that, again, I’m sorry I didn’t understand what you went through, and…”

Samara holds up a hand to stop Kali. “That’s enough, sister. I promised an answer. I will help you. We can talk more later, but yes, I will help take our father down.”

You nod, and smile. “Thank you, Samara. I’m glad you’re doing this. Unfortunately, we need to leave that collar on, for your safety and ours.”

Samara nods. “I assumed as much. Can you protect me?”

Both you and Kali nod. You chuckle. “I think you’ll be safe. As safe as any of us. I won’t send you into danger defenseless, you can stay away from combat. For now, you can stay in here. The door won’t be locked anymore. If you’d rather, we can have a room set up near ours instead.”

Samara looks down. “Would it be possible to stay with Kali?”

You look at Kali, and she smiles. “Of course. I only have the one bed though. We can get another in there, but it’s not a big room.”

Samara looks at Kali. “I…thank you. Both of you. For giving me this chance. I promise you won’t regret it.”

You nod. “I make the same promise to you, Samara.”

The two of you leave, as Samara sits down on the bed. You turn to Kali. “That was…”

Before you can finish, Kali is kissing you. Once she lets go, she smiles broadly. “I’m so happy she agreed! I’m going to go get my room ready!”

You laugh as the angelic Lilim bounces off. You, meanwhile, have a much less pleasant prisoner to talk to.
