Back in the past

“Can’t you do something?” Kasumi begged as Ren packed her bags. Her older sister simply shrugged and continued packing.

“No I can’t do that without knowing what she was like before. I don’t so I can’t.” She replied tersely.

“But can’t you at least stop her from you know?” Kasumi asked desperately.

“If I made her not love Dad what do you think she’ll do with you? With any of us?” She replied causing Kasumi to shrink.

“It’s not fair to her though.” Kasumi whined desperately.

“Life isn’t fair. You think anyone in this world wouldn’t do the same. Even she would.” Ren replied tersely, “all anyone ever wants in money, quirks and power. Not that anyone else is any different, so why should I pretend differently?”

“Then why do you love those cheesy romance novels so much?” Kasumi asked causing her sister to flush.

“The gallant men in those stories would deserve a harem, riches, and power, but people like that are just fiction.” She replied, a hint of anger in her voice.

“But what will you do? Where will you go?” Kasumi pleaded then her face drained, “are you going-“

“To do what Daddy wanted me to do? Don’t worry about it, I don’t care or want to become any kind of supervillain who’ll take over the world. I may have Dad’s quirk but I don’t want to do that.” She replied with a disturbing amount of disinterest.

“But where will you go?”

“I’ve got Mum’s looks, Dad’s quirk and Chi’s brains, only better. I don’t think anything can stop me.” Ren reminded her, and Kasumi bowed her head in defeat.

“Please don’t leave.” But she did and that was the last Kasumi ever saw of her older sister. Until today, with her and that boy, a complete 180 from the last day she met her.

She had found her hero, now what would she do?
