Ren’s sister

In the center of Hosu city a young girl was walking home from her job as a chef. She gazed up at the billboards of the city, her perfect sister plastered across many of them. Just more of the same, her sister’s fame, wealth and beauty being rubbed in her sister’s face. She didn’t deserve it, the bitch didn’t do any work for it, she didn’t care about anyone but herself.

But no one but Kasumi and her other sister Chun knew it. All blinded by her fabulous looks or suppressed by her damned quirk. Her perfect sister got everything she ever wanted and never gave anyone else a second thought. While Kasumi was the one left to take care of her braindead mother.

She looked herself in the the reflection of a glass store. Logically she knew was attractive in her own right, but she couldn’t help but compare herself to her. She could see all the magazines with her sister’s face on it and it made her sick.

She sighed, and was about to leave when she heard a few boys discussing her sister, as much as it frustrated her she listened in.

“Another interview from Ren Yamada, again gushing about her boyfriend.” One of the boys groaned. Boyfriend?

“Does she talk about anything else anymore? It’s always Midoriya this and Izuku that. It’s ridiculous, we get it she’s hopelessly in love.”

But-but that wasn’t right. Ren didn’t care about anyone but herself, her entire childhood had proven that. This didn’t seem right at all, then again she wouldn’t be surprised if Ren was just using that poor boy. But it was strange to hear that she was talking about him.

Kasumi hesitated before opting to purchase one of the magazines. It had been several years at least since she’d last heard anything from her, whether through an interview or person. Might as well buy a copy to read later.

She was completely unaware of what she’d find.

A/N: so meeting Ren’s family won the vote, and these chapters might go a bit longer than my normal threads simply because there’s more to explore here. I already intend to utilise some great ideas from Meles but if anyone has any ideas for character art to use for Ren’s mother or ideas in terms of personality for her sister. Part of these chapters is meant to explain why Ren was the way we found her at the start of the story so keep that in mind with your suggestions.
