Diagnosis

Max sat on a make-shift operating table in probably the most unsanitary ER room she’d ever seen.
She had put on a hospital gown and sat legs spread, the professor probing her vagina with his tools. She had told him about the Adonis clones; how one had shot his load in her, then how Ames White had impregnated her. A home pregnancy test confirming her story and the doubts she had that White had told her the truth.

“How long ago since insemination?”

“About two and a half days”, Max said, biting her lip as she felt the cold steel of Blunt’s tools sliding in and out of her vagina.

“Hhmmm” he said taking his glasses off and wiping it. “It is a pickle I can tell you that.”

“Can it be fixed or was that bastard telling the truth?”

“I can’t do an abortion, or the enzyme will release the toxin. But I can give you something to counteract it on the release of spermatozoa.”

“You mean an agent that can neutralise the toxin?” Max questioned hopefully.

“Well yes, I’ll inject it into your vaginal tract, but it will remain dormant until you have sexual intercourse again. The spermatozoa will activate it, then a standard birth control pill will use the toxin to kill the foetus.”

Max looked at the professor between her legs, “This will work?”
He nodded back. “Do it.”

Blunt got up and walked over to a broken cupboard, sliding the door open he shuffled through some bottles getting one from the back. The dark bottle contained a green liquid, Blunt reached for a catheter and attached it to a syringe filled with the liquid, he then walked back to Max sitting on the chair.

“This is going to feel, a little, weird.”

Max clutched the bed as Blunt inserted the catheter inside her vaginal tract, next she felt a squirt of cool liquid enter her womb before the catheter was removed.

Blunt looked up at her smiling, “Well, that does it. And now 452, I run a pretty lousy business, so we need to talk compen”...

There was the sound of the window breaking before Prof Blunt’s head blew open as a bullet flew through it in a burst of blood.
Max quickly took cover her eyes shooting toward where the bullet had come from. Using her enhanced vision Max saw an Adonis clone on a roof about a ¼ mile away with a sniper.

Max was about to dart off to the far room when the clone took up the sniper and left.

Max then remembered what White had told her; until the baby was born, she was to be left alone, the Sniper wasn’t going to harm her. She looked down at Blunt lying on the ground, his head in a mixture of blood and pieces of his brains. If what he had told her was true, the only way she could save herself was by having sex again.
