Ruka’s attachment

Kali leaves you and heads to her room, saying she needs time to think. You gave her a kiss, and went off to find Ruka. It didn’t take long, as she was hanging out in the dining room with Maya and Elys. The three of them smiled at you as you walked in.

Ruka jumps up with a smile, clapping excitedly. “I’m looking forward to spending time with you, Josh! What are we going to do?”

You chuckle at her enthusiasm. “Well, I was thinking we could wander around the city and talk until something catches our eye.”

Ruka grins. “That sounds good! I actually haven’t spent much time in cities, so it’ll be neat to just walk around.”

The green beauty takes your hand and the two of you head for the door. She squeezes your hand and you give her a smile. “You seem awfully excited, Ruka.”

She laughs. “It’s been a good day. Maya and I…had a good time last night, and I slept really well. And now I’m going out with a handsome man, who is having an orgy with many beautiful women tonight, and I’m invited!”

You laugh. “You and Maya really are two of a kind. I didn’t know dryads were so interested in sex, honestly.”

Ruka giggles. “Some are, some aren’t. Honestly, I think it’s Maya’s influence. She’s just so happy, even with her morning sickness, and so excited to be pregnant. Even though spirits can’t have kids, that sort of thing is contagious. It helps that you’re really cute!”

You blush, and Ruka playfully shoves you. “Honestly though, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to be silly like this. With everything going on, it’s hard not to get into a funk and just stay there.”

You nod. “I know you’ve lost a lot. I know it must be hard to leave the forest you gave so much to defend.”

Ruka sighs. “In truth, it was a selfish decision. I couldn’t be alone anymore. When I heard Maya was back, I made up my mind to join her. And then Daigo sought me out to be your guide. I knew then that I was leaving with you. I’m just fortunate that you turned out to be a wonderful person.”

You smile. “I hope I continue to live up to your expectations. I just want to make this world better.”

The two of you have reached the streets now. Unlike when you were out with Clarissa, there’s plenty of people walking around. You’re quickly recognized, and though people are polite enough not to mob you, there is a steady stream of well wishers passing by. Everyone seems delighted to see you, and plenty of friendly compliments are given to Ruka as well.

Ruka smiles at the attention the two of you get. “I think as long as you get greeted like this, rather than fear, you’re doing ok.”

You smile at the dryad, who leans against you. “After all, no one hates a liberator…”
