After being declared the winner for the match you had journeyed to the locker room tired and messy with your rifle and broken wand before changing into more casual clothes the next match was two weeks from now and you were gonna train some more however the look on Harmony’s face when you said that convinced you otherwise.

Who knew those brown eyes of her could be so scary regardless you had a free afternoon with Pierce and decided to go to the range leading to where you were today. A gunshot rang out as you looked to see Pierce’s shot go wide missing the center off by a few inches. You smirked patting him on the shoulder before speaking. “Here let me show you how its done.” You said before shouldering your rifle.

Taking a deep breathe you relaxed focusing your mana precisely as you had done hundreds of times before pulling the trigger sending a flame infused bullet towards the target setting it ablaze in a grand fireball before your looked to Pierce. “Got it?” You said to which he only huffed before shouldering his own rifle and firing again this time hitting his target with a wind infused bullet.

“I guess you were right.” Pierce said as you and him set down your rifles on a table before making your way over to Harmony who sat at a picnic table with Anthony playing her arms. “Have you boys finally finished playing with your toys?” Harmony said teasingly as she took another sip of her orange juice.

“No we haven’t even gotten to firing the new shotguns Pierce brought hun.” You said before taking a bite of your sandwich as Pierce ate his. “Besides we never get the chance to hang out especially now that he’s a big time duelist now.” Pierce said jabbing you in the shoulder. You winced before replying. “If there is one benefit to being a BlackThorn its that unlike other duelists I don’t have any crazy fans like the other duelists. Besides my number one fan is right here isn’t that right buddy?” You said in baby talk as you lifted Anthony out of Harmony’s arms Anthony only giggled as you rubbed your stubble covered face against his baby soft smooth skin laughing as you did so.

“How do you even have time for him and Harmony with all your studies, RA duties and everything else you do?” Pierce asked as you sat Anthony onto your lap while Harmony began to eat her sandwich.

“I have to make time, I have to give up some luxuries, delegation helps run BlackThorn industries and finally I communicate.” You said smiling at Harmony.

“You really lucked out marrying Harmony most guys and gals Ive heard from are envious of you two and your kid.” You raised an eyebrow at Pierce’s comments before he continued.

“Well its just so odd that your are a monogamous couple who are actually faithful to one another whereas guys mainly try to get into as many women’s pants as they can while girls try to nail the latest dreamboat guy on the market. Its really hard trying to nab a date these days with stuff like that going on heck I have lost hope of ever finding the one.” Pierce said taking a drink from his soda

“It’s hard I get it but I can tell you from experience Pierce keep pressing on its worth it in the end because when you become a father it changes your entire outlook on life it fills you with such awe and wonder thats its indescribable how it feels I mean I could spend hours talking about how much it simply means to hold Anthony in my arms after so many lonely years I have never felt more alive or fulfilled.” You said as you slowly cradled Anthony in your arms as he slowly cuddled into your chest.

“Yeah I know but I don’t even know if the girl I like even knows who I am much less if she likes me!” Pierce said quietly as he watched you cradle Anthony in your arms you only smiled before replying. “Tell me whats her name?”

Pierce nodded his head “It doesn’t matter I don’t stand a chance she’s not only a year ahead of us but she’s an RA no way she would date me anyway.” Pierce said as you wrapped your son in a blanket.

“Try me who know maybe I know her or maybe Harmony does. You said smiling as Anthony began to drift off to sleep in your arms. “Her name’s Veronica she’s an RA with pretty black hair and she’s super tall and-“

You smiled as Pierce went on explaining every little detail he knee about Veronica you paid attention as Harmony quietly took a seat next to you leaning on you as Pierce kept talking before he finished.

“Well the good news Pierce is I know her pretty well and while I would love to go and shoot some shotguns and talk more I think Anthony here has different ideas about what he wants to do.” You said as you held sleeping Anthony in your arms.
