Chapter 24 by fantaghiro
What's next?
You are approached by someone who knows Miss. Card.
You were somewhat overwhelmed at first. This kind of club was a completely new experience for you and you felt very out-of-place, especially considering your casual clothing. You knew that this wasn't exactly Randall's scene either, but he seemed to immediately take to it, jumping out on the dance floor and inserting himself into a group of similarly clad club girls. You watched him for awhile, shaking his new assets and moving rather skillfully in the tight dress and boots.
After a bit he noticed you hanging back. He weaved his way out of the mass of dancers and slinked over to you. "Come on, Tim! Have some fun!" he shouted over the noise. He looked you over, noting your nervous posture. "You need to relax, dude. Here, have a drink!" He called over a waitress and got some mixed drinks that you didn't immediately recognize. He gulped one down and handed you the other. "See the benefits of hanging with me here? You don't have to worry about being carded!"
He waiting for you to swallow your drink, the **** burning your throat as you quickly drained the glass. Then he grabbed your hand and practically **** you out onto the dance floor. You still felt out of place, looking around at the better dressed, mostly twenty-something patrons. But Randall's obvious joy and energy were infectious, and you soon found yourself dancing around with the rest of the crowd. Soon you were both sweaty and out of breath, but Randall wouldn't let you stop. You might have felt self-conscious, dancing with your friend who was such an attractive and sexily dressed woman. But Randall drew you into a group of women he was dancing with and you distracted yourself by focusing on them instead. You're not sure what they thought of someone like you being here with a hot young woman, but they seemed to accept you - and even have fun dancing and casually flirting with you.
You carried on for almost an hour when you suddenly realized you had lost track of Randall. You began looking around the dance floor for him, starting to panic. Finally after searching for 10 minutes or so, you saw him sitting at a table, talking with someone you didn't recognize. You slipped up behind them, trying to avoid drawing their attention. As you approached, you caught part of the conversation - judging by what you heard, this was clearly someone who knew Miss Card! Randall sounded like he was handling things quite well, seeming very relaxed and even enjoying himself. You listened more closely to learn who this person was...

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
