Chapter 22 by fantaghiro
What's next?
Randall appears, refreshed from his bath while you are watching TV.
Eventually you finished cleaning up the kitchen. You still felt wound up from Randall's behavior and decided to try relaxing in front of the TV to take your mind off things. You flipped channels for awhile until you ran across something that made you stop - Dancing with the Stars. Although Randall had often mocked you for liking it, the show held a special place in your heart. Watching it together had become a tradition for you and your mother, one of the few shows you both enjoyed.
The memory of your mom made you a little melancholy. Sighing at the reminder of your loss, you sat back to watch the show in a sort of homage to her. You were suprised when, a few minutes later, Randall came back down the stairs. He walked in wearing your mom's white cotton robe, with a towel wrapped around his hair - just like your mom would after a bath.
"Oh!" he said in a near-perfect imitation of your mother's tone, "I didn't realize the show had already started. I hope I haven't missed anything..."
He sat down beside you on the sofa and for a brief moment you forgot that it wasn't your mom. Given Randall's normal feelings about the show you weren't sure what to do. Was he going to keep up his charade?

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
