Chapter 20 by fantaghiro
What's next?
Later, you discover Randall acting like your real mother all of a sudden.
You sat lost in thought for awhile, confused and unsure about what had just happened. You were still incredibly turned on by Randall's performance and especially his promise of more to come. You were also guilty over your reaction to your mother's body - and your agreement to continue to explore your new relationship with Randall.
Finally you tried to pushed your doubts and uncertainty aside. Randall was right. He wasn't the same boy he had been - and clearly he wasn't the same mother you'd have either. Your friendship - relationship - wasn't going to be the same, so you might as well see where things would lead.
You shivered a litte in nervous anticipation. Your life suddenly promised to become a lot more interesting. You couldn't help but feel excited.
Looking over at the clock, you realized that Randall had left nearly an hour ago. "He's gonna be wondering what happened to me!" you said to yourself. You quickly took off your dirty jeans and jumped in the shower to wash off. You barely took time to dry off, threw on some clean clothes, and headed down to find Randall.
You were immediately struck by an inviting smell as you walked down the stairs. Something good was cooking.
Curious, you went on to find Randall in the kitchen. He was still dressed in your mom's blouse and skirt, though he had added an apron and exchanged the high heels for your mom's slippers. It was an eerily familiar scene, reminding you of your real mom. It was just like she often did when working in the kitchen.
Shaking off the weird feeling of deja vu, you walked in and greeted Randall. "Wow, that smell's great!"
Randall smiled over his should. "Thank you. Why don't you set the table?"
"Sure, no problem," you responded, going over to the cabinet. You set out some glasses and silverware, then decided to go ahead and get some drinks. You poured some soda for yourself. "What do you want to drink?" you asked Randall.
"Just some water, please?" he replied.
You were a bit surprised at that. Randall was even more of a cola drinker than you. On the other hand, your mom drank water at dinner, with the occasional cup of tea or diet soda - or wine, perhaps.
Shrugging, you got him some water and took everything to the table.
"Perfect timing!" Randall said as he pulled a dish from the oven. It looked like some kind of baked chicken, you thought. It certainly smelled delicious.
Randall served the chicken with potatoes and a casserole on the side. You both sat down and began to eat. It was a very good meal - the best you'd had at home since the accident. Randall must have really been working on his cooking lately. You knew you should compliement him, so you said "wow, this is really good!"
He smiled and blushed at your praise. "Thank you, Tim. I'm glad you like it."
You were so focused on enjoying the excellent food that you didn't notice anything odd about Randall's behavior at first.
But as the meal progressed, you began to feel a little odd as he asked you about your day - your classes, homework, even Allison.
You kept having the feeling that something was off. Finally it dawned on you. Randall's conversation and mannerisms were very familiar and yet not at all like Randall - instead he was acting just like your mom!
You watched and listened more closely, responding to his questions more-or-less as you would to your real mother. Maybe your memory was a little clouded by living with Randall as your mom for the last month, but it seemed to you that his behavior was spot-on. You could swear that it was your actual mother sitting here with you! You gave him a strange look, trying to decipher his thoughts. "What was Randall playing at?" you wondered. "Is this related to what he said in my room?"
You debated on how to respond. Should you just go with it and pretend that this was your mother? Or confront him about all this?

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
