Dinner and craving

You’re sat at a large table, along with your whole family, and Queen Sella and her husband and daughter. Maya is seated beside you on one side, and Anna on the other. Watching Sella interact with her family makes you smile.

“So, how did this happen, if you don’t mind me asking. The other human kingdoms seem either ignorant or actively abusive towards monster girls. And yet, here you’re queen.”

Sella smiles. “My father fell in love is what happened. He met a kitsune that stole his heart. And as she told it, she gave hers in return. They changed this kingdom into what it is today. A haven for those cast out elsewhere.”

She glances at Clarissa, down the table having a animated conversation with Elys and Kali. “It helps having the dwarves on our border. They are quite accepting of various races, though they keep to themselves for the most part.”

You smile. “Well, I hope we can spread those ideas. Too many of the girls came to me with horrible stories about what happened in this world.”

Sella nods. “I want Frey to grow up in a world where she’s accepted for who she is, not just as a princess or queen.”

“Indeed. Unrelated question, and hopefully not too personal, I noticed she shares your fox traits. Is that normal?”

Sella smiles. “Not too personal at all. I can see why you’d be curious.” She smiles at Maya, who has been watching the little fox girl with adoring eyes. Maya blushes and giggles.

She continues, “All monster girls breed true. If she gets pregnant, and it’s a girl, the child will be the same as the mother. And for some reason, almost all pregnancies result in girls.”

Maya grins and hugs your arm. “Can you picture it, my Josh? A bunch of little dragon girl daughters? And any other kids the family has? I love it!”

You chuckle, and Sella and her husband laugh. Nathan smiles at you. “Oh, she’s got it bad!”

You laugh. “Yeah, we knew that already. I don’t know if she’s got the others involved, but I’d put money on Lynn and Kali joining her soon.”

Anna giggles, blushing. You look at her and laugh. “You too, Anna?”

“Of course, master! Don’t you think I would look cute pregnant?”

You groan, and Sella and Nathan laugh. Sella winks. “It’s good you have a big family, it sounds like it’s going to be much bigger!”

You nod, sobering at thoughts of the future. “Assuming we survive what I’m planning. You do realize that my endgame is defeating the demon lord, right? This won’t be easy.”

Sella nods. “It won’t, but it’s necessary. If we don’t act, it’s only a matter of time before he grows strong enough to overwhelm us. If you manage to unite humans, dwarves, elves, and monsters....we have a good chance.”

“And that’s what I intend to do.”

Sella smiles, and looks at you curiously. “So, at what point do we start calling you Emperor Josh?”

You shake your head. “I’m no ruler, just a kid with a bit of magic. I wouldn’t dream of trying to be some kind of supreme leader.”

Sella nods. “Which is exactly why you should be. However, I won’t argue about it now. Just know that you have my support.”

“I thank you, Sella.”
