Daphne explains the details for this

"Alright, Granger... I admit, you're doing better than I thought you would..." Daphne conceded.

Since it was dark, Daphne couldn't see Hermione beaming as she looked up at the great clock. it was 1:43. Overall, not terrible time, but she didn't want to risk the sun rising before she had beaten Daphne.

"The skill of a beater is making another player either go off course or fall off their broom. Normally, the bludgers are easy to see, but since it's dark, we had to charm them."

Daphne opened the crate with her wand from a distance. Hermione to see the two bludgers were glowing green. They strained to get out of the locks holding them back from their singular purpose, one that made Filch green with envy: The privilege of hitting students.

"If you get the bludgers within one meter of me," Daphne stepped forward, and the balls began to glow scarlet. "They will change color, see? You get three color changes, and round three is finished!"

She released the bludgers, which turned green the moment they had left an arm's length of Daphne.

"Oh yeah, and also..." Daphne charmed her robes to glow green as well. "Beaters can see their targets easily, so Pansy decided that I should do this..."

Hermione took off into the air. If she thought being a chaser was hard, she hadn't realized how difficult it would be trying to hit a cannonball whizzing through the air, let alone aiming it to hit something!

After some time of Daphne and Hermione just flying casually around the stadium, Hermione took a swing at a bludger and...

"That was just dumb luck!" Daphne cried as the bludger turned red.

Hermione paused... what had she done differently that time? Could she replicate it? Let's see... She was holding the bat with her right arm, she swung backhand, and Daphne was on her right... So that would mean...

Hermione positioned herself so that a bludger was coming at her while Daphne was on her left. She swung forehand this time, hoped she wouldn't miss and...

The bludger nearly had her! It glowed a bright scarlet!

"You think you're good, mudblood! I'll show you!" Daphne began to speed up and fly more erratically now, throwing in more vertical moves as well. Hermione was missing swing after swing, unable to hit Daphne.

Then an idea hit Hermione. If trickery helped Hermione as a chaser... Maybe it could help as a beater, too. Hermione positioned herself with Daphne on her right as the bludger careened forward. As Daphne swooped to change her own place, Hermione quickly shifted the bat to her left hand! She immediately swung the bat, clumsy as she was with her left hand and...

It hit Daphne straight in the back. Daphne careened to the earth as Hermione covered her face in shock! She hadn't meant to actually hit her!

As she made her way to the ground to Daphne's side, Pansy was already there, treating her. Millicent stood at her side, glowering at Hermione, holding the two brooms that had apparently gotten them down so fast.

"Daphne, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to-!"

"Can it, mudblood!" Millicent threatened.

After Pansy had finished, Daphne sat up, still in some pain.

"Well, Granger... I have to hand it to you. I didn't think prissy little Hermione Granger had it in her to hit a bludger that hard..."

Daphne pulled her wand from her robes and with a wave, the bludger thudded to the ground. With Millicent's help, Daphne got up and slowly made her way to the chest, unleashing the snitch with flashed briefly before going completely dark again.

"Since you'll be doing this part alone, Granger, if it's all the same to you, I think I'm going to rest on the stands for a bit."

Daphne, somewhat supported by the other two Slytherins, flew up to the bleachers and sat to watch Hermione try to catch the snitch. Hermione looked up at the clock. 3:57. She was exhausted from this evening and had just over two and a half hours to catch the snitch...
