RO Day 8 - Go with Rebecca

You go after her and stop her outside.

"Where are you going?" you ask.

"Riley, I need you to just let me go," she says, pulling away. She's not mad, but she really means it.

You just decide to be honest.

"Rebecca, last night you did this and you came back hurt. I'm supposed to be the captain. What would you do if you were me? How am I supposed to let you go?"

She struggles to answer that.

"Please," she says.

"Look, I can see something's going on. I just want to help," you tell her.

"Your life will be a lot easier if you just go back inside and go to bed," Rebecca says, surprising you. She's not comfortable being so assertive, but she has a tough side!

"I can't sleep if I'm worrying about you," you say.

"Fine. But it's not my fault if you end up in trouble," she snaps.

"OK."

"And you can't tell anyone. Anyone," she repeats.

"Fine! Where are we going?"

The destination is... a car in the parking lot. Another girl is in it: it's Jill from Blue Team. She gets out when she sees you two approaching in the dark.

"Who is she?"

"She's Riley. My captain," Rebecca says. "I fell down in the woods last night and got hurt. Now she's worried."

"Yeah, why would I worry about you meeting with Blue Team?" you ask dryly. "Nothing weird about that."

"Oh, please," Jill says. "Get in the car."

Rebecca gets in beside her, and you climb into the back. Jill hands Rebecca a laptop, and Rebecca opens it.

"What did you get?" she asks.

"Just emails. Read it."

Confused, but curious, you just sit there and listen.

Rebecca reads while Jill keeps watch. "This is an antidote. They're talking about an antidote."

"I knew it. God damn it, Rebecca. We came here to play soccer."

"It's not my fault that Claire recognized Annette!"

Jill groans. "Fine. An antidote to what?"

"I don't know. It only talks about how to make it."

You don't know what they're talking about, and you're tired. It's not about soccer... so it's not like Rebecca is spying or anything. You start to nod off, but they keep talking.

"It's complicated," Rebecca is saying. "You need this flower and some other things."

"I've seen the flower," Jill says.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Oh. Well, you need that and some green and red herbs. Then you give that to someone with Natural F-Physiology."

"What's F-Physiology?"

"Well, there's a picture," Rebecca says.

"Oh. Oh," Jill replies. You open your eyes and see that she's blushign. "So girls with... you know."

"Yup. So the flower isn't the antidote. You use the flower to make the serum and give it to someone like this, and they they produce the antidote."

"Produce it how?"

"I don't know, but I would guess it has to do with the... you know, the penis," Rebecca says. "The antidote acts as a vaccine. So if we can get it, we'll be immune."

"Oh. Right. Rebecca, we need this antidote ASAP."

"Yeah. Can you find that flower again?" Rebecca asks.

"I think so. Do you have herbs?"

"Of course. In my bag."

"We'll need to find someone with Natural F-Physiology too," Jill says.

"I think I know one."

"Who? Her? Seriously? Is she sleeping? Will she help us?"

But you were half asleep through all that. You remember Rebecca waking you up and groggily returning to the cabin.

"So Riley," Rebecca says as you walk.

"Yeah?" You yawn.

"You said you wanted to help."

"Um, sure."

"Does that mean I could ask you for a favor?"

"Rebecca, if you just keep your head in the game and play well, I will do literally anything for you," you promise.

"OK," she promises. "I'll do my best."

Well, at least nobody got hurt tonight.
