Investigation

“What’s the job Mr. BlackThorn?” The man said over the phone.

“Its an investigation into a woman that disappeared about ten years ago name is Catherine Marie Ashcroft.” The phone went silent for a few moments before the man spoke once more.

“What kind of package would you like for the job Mr. BlackThorn?”

“Make it a platinum package with full discretion.” You replied as you waited.

“Platinum Package with full discretion and would you like us to take this from the account we have on record?” The man asked.

“Yes please.” You replied.

“Processing payment one moment.” The man said going silent for a few minutes before he spoke again.

“Transaction complete we’ll be in touch with you as soon we find something Mr. BlackThorn.” And with that the phone line went dead with a flat tone ringing out. You soon hung up the phone before removing the seals and making your way back to the train booth where Harmony laid on the booth sound asleep lightly snoring much like Anthony now.

You smiled pulling out the foldable bed cover and gently lifted your wife and son onto it joining them in the bed wrapping the three of you in a blanket before staring out the window as you laid down. You would find out what happened to Harmony’s mother if anyone could figure this out it would be the Pinkertons.

You woke up groggily and turned to see the train approaching the station. Standing you gently rubbed Harmony awake before the two of you were now standing up while little Anthony still slept. As you exited the train and stepped onto the platform you stretched your body preparing it for the duels that laid ahead of you. As you and Harmony made you way down to the dueling arena for hopefully your final round of dueling before you would be one of the chosen candidates for dueling the other schools. You kissed Harmony and the now awake but still sleepy Anthony before making your way to the locker room.

As you changed into your school uniform you tied your black skull tie, tucked in your white dress shirt and pulled opted to wear the standard black school sweater with the school coat of arms over your heart while you rolled up your white dress shirt sleeves and finally pinned your metal skull to your chest. Walking over to your locker you quickly removed the security seals drawing out your lever action and putting on the small leather belt and pouches on your waist filling them with rounds before closing your metal locker and sitting down on the metal bench.

You thumped your rifle feeling the cold metal barrel in your hands to the deadwood wooden stock before standing up and making your way out to the arena. As the sounds of cheering students and guests filled the air you looked across you to see Jackson Silverblood standing across from you his brown hair swaying as the wind blew through the arena. It looks like the universe finally was gonna give you an excuse to give a beatdown.
