Dueling: Round 2
As you stepped forward you stretched your neck and loosened you body up as you looked out to the stands finding Harmony and Anthony watching as you did your second dueling match. Looking across the stone dueling ring stood a black haired student with House Pegasus pin on their chest.
Drawing your rifle you loaded a few round before the official signaled for the duel to start. “Whats the matter need a rifle to do the job or are you too weak to use a wand like the rest of us?”
You sighed before smirking in response and holstered lever action drawing forth your wand. As the other student summoned a druid you drew your own spell card and smiled as the card burned. The druid soon began walking towards you a path of greenery trailing behind it as it advanced towards your position.
A few seconds later the roar of engines could be heard overhead before a ghostly green F-100D fighter jet darted over the dueling ring. The crowd watched in awe as it dropped it payload of four cylinder shaped charges before the stone dueling arena became engulfed in fiery napalm much to the horror of your opponent.
As the fire began to die down you frowned as you noticed the druid while the greenery behind it was burnt to a crisp had shielded itself with giant tree roots. Keeping with your theme of shock and awe you drew your wand preparing a small flame on the tip of your wand.
As the druid began to summon greenery from the ashes. You took a deep breathe before blowing onto the small flame which soon exploded out in front of you engulfing the arena once more in flames. As you did this your opponent drew forth some more magical cards summoning giant living trees to the field as roasted the druid to a crisp reducing it to ashes.
Seeing three giant trees slowly lumbering towards your position you smiled drawing out two spell cards and before long a large jungle surrounded in thick grey fog began to emerge from behind you. The sounds of movement and the pounding of war drums could be heard from the fog with only small shadows being seen as they darted forward revealing small miniature sized men in grass skirts with ritualistic colored warpaint wearing wooden carved masks on their face with wooden spears, slings, torches, grappling hooks and rope in their arms.
You watched as they charged forward towards the trees in large hordes using their small stature and numbers to their advantage. You watched as your opponent prepared another spell while your summons began to toss their grappling hooks and pulling down the giant lumbering trees one by one before setting them alight with their torches.
A satisfied grin covered your face as your opponent realized now that the small tribesman were charging towards him and quickly burned a spell card summoning a golem made of vines and wood. You frowned as you noticed that unlike the earlier summons this one seemed more adept at counter your tribesman summons commanding its vines to swipe at them keeping them at a distance wiling out their numerous hordes in minutes. The roaring of engines could be heard once more as you looked over head to see the F-100 making a gun on the golem only for the golem to command a tree to sprout from the ground and then grab the tree by its trunk throwing it like javelin towards the jet causing it to crash into a flaming inferno.
Sighing you drew another spell card as the golem slowly walked closer towards your position of the dueling arena. Soon the sounds of more engines could be heard from the fog as ghostly green American GIs began to pour from the fog with various infantry pouring onto the arena while others began to set up machine positions while others set up a mortar as M4 Shermans with large dozer blades charged along side the infantry.
The arena turned to chaos as the sounds of gunfire, explosions and radio chatter from the ghost army charged forward fighting the giant golem with everything in their arsenal. You watched one of the Shermans charged forward only to stop before it leveled it main turret towards the golem and began spewing out a bright orange flame as the GI began opening fire on the golem causing it lift its arm in a attempt to shield itself from the overwhelming fire.
You watched as the your opponent drew his wand and pointed it at the golem before green stream of light began form between the wand and the golem. It appeared he was healing the golem as it took fire from the ghost army. Drawing your own spell cards once more you soon burned another spell card and before long the roaring sounds of propellor driven planes could he heard overhead as the sky became with blue dauntless hell divers.
A loud screeching could be heard as the dauntless dive bombers began their suicidal dives aiming at the wooden golem as it tried to fight back against the ghost army which was bringing everything in its arsenal to bare on the poor golem. The wooden golem was being peppered by bullets as fire was spewed forth by the Sherman at and infantry with M2 flamethrowers strapped to their backs, as machine guns and mortars peppered the beast with intense fire.
Then the golem looked up as large shadows began fill the sky before bombs fell detonating and covering the arena in black smoke. When the smoke had cleared all that remained were torn pieces of vines and wooden splinters from the wood and vine golem as your opponent laid on the ground having fainted from channelling all of his mana by the looks of into trying to heal the golem.
You smiled as the crowds cheered as personnel from the nurse’s office took to the arena to check on your opponent while you walked back into the arena towards the locker rooms.
Another victory.
