Endure

After stumbling back to Hotel Rexford you sighed checking Anthony over before slowly falling asleep your arms around your son. You were tired in more ways then one not to mention you felt hollow at this point.

After a short nap you soon just laid in bed your arms around your son. The nanny had said that earlier he had been crying and had been completely inconsolable before you showed up. You stroked some of Anthony’s hair as your son laid still asleep you wondered how many restless nights would be spent with a bottle or flask in your hand and hollowness in your heart. Sadly for you it would be about a month stuck in the hotel one painful and lonely month before the school dueling leagues began to open up and you of course registered after all you had to have something cheer you up.

You stretched your neck as you stood metal pin on your chest as a red haired girl with a house Cerberus student standing across from you in the dueling circle. She was saying something but in your tired state you weren’t really paying attention besides she was probably trash talking you.

As she drew two magical daggers from her robes to which you only sighed drawing your holstered lever action rifle before she spoke once more this time however you were paying attention. “You may be an RA but I am not going to lose especially to a BlackThorn.” You only yawned in response before looking to the dueling official for him to cast his starting spell and with that the duel had begun.

The girl drew some of her own blood before summoning some low-leveled ghouls in response you drew your wand and began to prepare some seals scattering them all around dueling field. As the ghouls began to stumble towards your position you drew a spell card summoning your suit of armor who quickly drew his sword and began slice into the ghouls.

Seeing this the girl began summoning skeletal wolves that began to charge forward to try and claw open the suit of armor only for their claws to harmlessly scratch off the metal armor. Drawing another spell card you scattered some seeds onto the ground.

You loaded your rifle as you shot a fireball and some lighting infused rounds to help your suit of armor fight against the ghouls which were now beginning to number in the hundreds on the dueling circle. Drawing two more spell cards soon two more suit of armor one wielding a mace and the other a crossbow before advancing to assist the first suit of armor.

Soon however the seeds began to dig into the ground and slowly began to grow as your opponent began to summon a much bigger summon by the looks of it. As your three armored knights just began to break through the horde of ghouls a giant knight in black armor appeared before slowly beginning its advance towards your three knight.

Sighing you soon began to take aim lacing your next few rounds with void magic hoping to pierce its thick black armor. However as you were about to fire one of the skeletal wolves began to charge your position only to be impaled by a grey tree root that rose from the ground. Sighing you fired a few rounds knocking the knight severely off guard before it collapsed and began to fade. The girl across from you seemed stunned not expecting you to have had anything to counter the heavily armored knight before you took aim and casted a simple fireball in her direction. Exhausted and low on mana she dodged only for your three knights to charge forward putting her on the defensive before you spoke.

“Come on its over call it so the official won’t have to.” You said reloading your rifle. The girl by now was on the ground with one of your knight’s swords baring down on her as she held back with the two daggers before she yelled out. “Fine I yield.”

With those words the knights backed off and the duel was over you had won the first round only a few more preliminary rounds to go. Sighing you holstered your rifle as you summons began to fade away before you headed to the train station as your next round if you had one wouldn’t be until tomorrow.
