Surrender

Kenny gave Nicole a nod as Terry led Anna, Eric, JJ, and her out of the room. He took his time, letting the redhead get her start with Terry, making sure that the slim man wasn't returning to the room before he finally let out a long exhale. "Sir?" Kenny calmly said to the elder criminal,

John looked over to Kenny, his withered lips pursed, "Listen, kid, you need to stay quiet and listen to him," He warned while motioning over towards where Terry had gone, "His fuse is short and all his patients are spent, you'll end up getting hurt,"

"We're already going to be hurt," Kenny replied in a firm tone, "You and I both know that. You know that they are going to hurt us, but you can do something to stop them,"

"That's not going to happen, if you would all just listen, this will be over soon and you'll be okay," John denied, his head shaking as he seemed to force himself to believe the words he spoke,

"We have been listening, sir, and so far two of our friends have been taken out into the woods, we've all been threatened with our lives, and now we're being split up. This isn't working out the way you think it is," Zoey spoke up in earnest,

"Look," John said as he lowered his voice, "I'm not going to let anything happen to you kids if that were to happen. Alright? So, now that you have nothing to worry about, just please, shut up before T overhears,"

"You're one guy," Kailyn argued, "What's to stop your buddies from putting you down if you stand in their way? That guy...Terry, you're afraid of him, and he clearly doesn't think much of you," Kailyn pointed out, "You think you'll be able to talk that guy down?"

John frowned, "My son is with me, he will do what I say and if need be help me stop him," John then shook his head irritably, "But nothing is going to happen, now enough,"

"Yeah your son, Henry," Kenny said his tone sounding very disappointed, "This is how you've shown him to handle tough things in life. You've turned him into a criminal because you had a bad business deal? That's who you are?" John shut his eyes and turned his head, rebuffing Kenny in a response, "Life sucks, I know that and I've barely even started mine, people can be assholes, but what kind of fix is turning to crime? You're going to turn him into a murderer, John,"

"My boy is not a murderer," John snapped back,

"Not yet," Zoey instantly shot back, "But if you don't do something, he will be. Take responsibility for your actions, be a father and protect your son,"

"It's....it's too late, we're already this far in," John lowly said, his eyes seeming to well up,

"It's not, show your son what's right and stop all this, give it up, and call the police. If you cooperate the courts will look favorably on you and Henry, and he can still have a life that's not behind bars with blood on his hands," Kailyn urged,

"I..." John started to say as he looked down at his pistol. Just then the group heard a gunshot from outside the lodge,

John's eyes were wide and after a moment he heard a sharp snap inside the kitchen along with Eric shouting for JJ. "John, listen it is over, do what's right, just drop the gun and surrender, please," Kenny said as the three heard the heavy thunk of boots running towards the front door on the outside deck. John gulped and looked at Kenny then back to his gun, "John!" Kenny urged again finally causing the man to toss the gun to the ground and put his hands up.

Kenny jumped down to the gun, taking it in his hands just as the front door was kicked open, "Daddy!" Zoey exclaimed, bursting into relieved tears as she saw Richard enter the lodge, rifle up, aiming at John,

"Lay flat on your stomach," Richard growled out to John who did as told. "Nice job son," Richard nodded while looking to Kenny before swiftly cuffing John with zip ties,

"There's another one in the kitchen," Kenny replied causing Richard to rush into the next room. Kenny slowly relaxed and turned to Zoey who let out a desperate cry and jumped into his arms, hugging him tightly, "It's okay...it's okay," He soothingly told her.

Moments later Nicole, Anna, Eric, and JJ returned to the living room, Richard just behind them, dragging a cuffed, unconscious Terry with one arm. He grunted while tossing the slim man down next to John and finally moved to Zoey, pulling her into a tight hug, "You okay, baby?"

"Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you!" Zoey whimpered out to her father,

"You did real good, honey," Richard proudly told her before planting a kiss on her forehead, "All of you did, now let's get you kids out of here,"

"Wait!" Kailyn exclaimed, "There's still one more, he took Rachel and Brian out of the lodge earlier, and he's still not back, there's no telling what he's doing to them!"

Richard's lips tightened and he planted his second hand back on his rifle, "Okay, I'll go out and look for them, you kids get to the base of the mountain. The police are on their way, you'll be safe,"

"I'm not gonna let these guys get away," Eric denied while looking down at Terry and John,

"Yeah no way," JJ agreed, "You guys go, Eric and I will keep an eye on them. And if they try anything funny," He added on while showing Terry's gun, "I'll protect us,"

"There's a third one outside, drag him in here then and watch them, the rest of you though, you go down to the base, no exceptions," Richard lamented,

"No, Mr.Irons, can't do that," Kenny easily said, "I know where he's taking them, and I can lead you right to him,"
