A nervous gorgon

Authors note: 100 chapters in! Thanks to everyone who is still here. My goal was to hit 100 in a month, and I made it! I plan on keeping the pace as long as my story ideas keep going and as long as it feels like it’s not terrible quality. Anyway, thanks so much for reading, now back to the story.

You wake alone in the morning, not really surprising since Anna liked to get breakfast ready. You climb out of bed and head down to the dining room. Anna and Elys are there already, and you catch a little of their conversation.

“Do you think he’ll be ok with thisss? I don’t want to make him sssad.”

“Master will understand. He loves you and wants you to be happy, Elys.”

“I know, and I love him too, thatsss why it feelsss weird to asssk that of him...”

“Trust me. There is no one more understanding and caring than master. Just tell him what you want, he will agree.”

You decide that now is a good time to walk in. “Good morning, early risers!”

Both of them jump, and you laugh at the guilty looks they give you. “You know, if you’re plotting something, try not to look like you’re plotting when someone walks in. So, I caught a little of that. What’s going on, Elys? Is something wrong?”

Elys looks down, seemingly nervous. You’ve never seen her like this, so you sit beside her, and gently rest your hand on hers. “Elys, you can ask me anything. I care about you, and nothing you could ask would be a problem.”

“Well, thisss might be, Josh. I wanted to asssk...could I take Maya on my date inssstead of you?”

She looks at you, scared, as if you would fly into a rage. Instead, you smile.

“Is that all? Elys, I know you’re in love with Maya. It’s fine. The other girls will just get jealous of her getting two dates!”

Both Elys and Anna laugh, and Elys surprises you by giving you a big hug and a kiss.

“I want you to know I love you too, Josh. You’re the only man I want in my life, and I will be by your ssside asss much asss the othersss.”

“I know, Elys. I know all of this, and I love you and Maya, and I think you’re a wonderful couple. Our whole situation is a little strange, so there’s no reason to worry about little things like that!”

Elys sits back down, regaining her composure. You chuckle. “After all, I know you’re seducing Lynn into your little group too.”

Elys grins and leans towards you. “Not jussst her. A certain djinn expressed interessst asss well.”

You laugh, shaking your head. “We’re going to end up as co-harem leaders, Elys.”

The three of you laugh together, the tension gone. You continue, “Besides, this gives me a chance to call the construction company, I wanted to add a little surprise to the house.”

Anna smiles. “A surprise, master? You can tell a rich person when they decide on a surprise construction project.”

“Oh shush, my ‘perfect servant’, you’ll love it too.”

The three of you turn to inconsequential topics, and have a pleasant conversation as the rest of the girls filter in.
