Relaxation interrupted

The day after your conversation with Rachel, the girls call for a relaxation day. You agree, and the morning starts with a cuddling party, everyone relaxing in the living room and watching garbage television. Even Anna agreed to let the housework slide for the day. The six of you are actually beginning to laugh and enjoy the terrible sci-fi show you’re watching, when the whole house seems to shudder. A rumble drowns out the tv, and there is a flash of light outside.

You sigh, looking at the concerned faces around you. “Well, I should have expected this. I expect that we have a guest. I’m going outside before she breaks our new door.”

Maya bounces up. “I’m coming with you.” Her tone tells you there will be no argument.

“Fine, but stay a bit away from me, please. I have a plan, and I don’t want anyone hurt. Anna, stay here. Elys and Sadie, stay here and protect her and Lynn, we don’t want a surprise ambush. I don’t think that will happen, but I won’t risk any of you.”

Elys gives you a narrow eyed look. “At what point did you plan on telling usss about your plan?”

You chuckle. “I didn’t, because I knew you girls wouldn’t approve. I’m depending on some research I did on the Lilim, and what I’ve learned about Kali. Please trust me?”

Elys gives you a hard look, then nods. Lynn runs over and hugs you, her head barely reaching your chest. “Please be c-careful Josh! I love you, and I don’t want you in the hospital again!”

You gently brush her long brown hair and smile down at her. “Don’t worry. Kali isn’t the threat we thought she was, trust me.”

Lynn steps back, wiping a tear away and giving you a nervous smile. As you turn, Anna approaches. Placing a hand on your cheek, she looks into your eyes. Her green eyes seem huge as she quietly speaks. “Master, I’m scared. You mean so much to everyone here. I trust you to do the right thing out there.” She steps in close, standing on her toes to lightly kiss you. “Come back safe, Josh. I love you.”

Slightly stunned, you pull her into a hug, and give her a more thorough kiss. “I promise, Anna. I’ll be ok.”

As you turn to the door, Sadie hugs you from behind. “Don’t forget the new girl! I need comfort too! Stay safe, Joshie!”

You laugh. “Really? ‘Joshie’?”

Sadie giggles, nodding. “It’s a cute name for a cute man!”

“Well, I don’t think I approve, but I also don’t think I can stop you, my little goofball...” And with that, you turn and kiss the giggling djinn.

With that, you and Maya head to the door. “Maya, whatever happens out here, do not attack Kali. I can handle her, and she needs me alive. Ok?”

Maya nods and grabs your collar, pulling you into a passionate kiss. Releasing you she smiles. “I trust you, my Josh. Now, let’s finish this so we can go have a little victory orgy!”

You laugh, and step out the door. You hear Maya grunt softly as her claws and scales grow, and you stop short at the sight greeting you outside.

A large tree is burning, shattered by fire and impact. In front of the tree stands a surprisingly tall Kali. You hadn’t realized during your meeting, but she is even taller than you. Wreathed in flame, she glares at you with eyes that flicker black and red. Clenching her fists she speaks.
