Chapter 12
by
Roar of The Winning Punch
What was that?
Ya Got Caught
My smoldering body laid wasted on the couch, as the three women stood over me with various looks of anger on their faces. “Busted.” I coughed, exhaling a bit of smoke.

“They just can’t help themselves can they?” Rae looked down at me with a dissapointed nod. She had Daisy’s head pressed against her chest, and patted the blonde slowly.
“Rae, I’m so sorry. I’ll punish him for this.”
“Just get rid of him Miranda. Can’t you see he’s dangerous?”
Miranda frowned. “I’m not getting rid of him. You wouldn’t get rid of your pet.” She glared at Daisy.
Rae tilted her head, exasperated. “Your pet bit mine. What must we do with rabid animals Daisy?”
“Kill them.” She growled, glaring daggers at me.
“Over my dead body.” Miranda puffed out her chest, oh damn! She was standing up for me!
Rae sighed. “If people find out, your defending a man who just hurt a sister, that might be the case. I think you need to go back to reeducation, and dispose of this animal, before you ruin your place in The Sisterhood.”
I coughed and sat up. “If Miranda goes, it’s going to be with Daisy." I played the only card I had, as soon as it was delt. "You’ve seen how they treat Miranda, what do you think all your opened minded lady friends will think, when she hears Daisy was chocking on dick the first chance she got?”
Rae looked over at me, not really showing any emotion. “Sit boy.”
“Aaaaaaaah!” I clutched at my neck desperately, but couldn’t stop myself from sliding off the couch, and to the floor, tears evaporating from my eyes just as fast as they appeared.
“You can’t say much of anything if we burn your voice-box out. Sit boy.”
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!”
“Sit boy.”
“AAAAAAAAAH!”
“Sit…”
“Stop it!” To everyone’s surprise Daisy, pushed Rae to stop her from killing me. And make no mistake, it felt like she was killing me. I'd never felt my heart beat at quite that rhythm.
“Daisy!” Rae snapped, more hurt than surprised.
The blonde gestured to Miranda. “Can’t you see, she’s going to report me, if we kill him?”
“He hurt you!” Rae shouted.
“Not as much as they’ll hurt me, if people find out. I chose to suck his dick, I thought it was the right thing at the moment. Now that I see that your friend Miranda is a full on traitor, I know it was.”
“Daisy…”
“You’ve punished him enough. He won’t mess with us anymore.” She stared at me with deep smoldering eyes. I was surprised that she stood up for me, but little did I know she had much grander designs for me than ****.
After that the two left without much more of a fuss, though I had a feeling that they wouldn’t be coming over for dinner anymore. Woops.
I was still on the floor, muscles twitching, and sore. Miranda stood over me with her hands on hips. “I can’t believe you.” She actually sounded hurt. “This isn’t you! Why would you do something like this?”
She was right. I would never have done anything like that on the island. My organs felt like they were turning to mush with guilt. Still, you put a person in chains you make them dangerous. “To hurt you.” The lie came to me, right there in the moment.
“What?”
“You ruined my life, then tell me you’re going to take care of me. But you’ve hardly looked my way since I got here. So I wanted to ruin your night.” Sounded more plausible than me fishing for points on a weird app someone put on my watch.
“That’s not fair, you have no idea what it’s been like for me.”
“I know, because you won’t talk to me Miranda. Last month we were surfing together, and I didn’t even know you liked me. Now we’re living together, and that island is destroyed. Don’t you think we should take a moment to try to understand each other's situation?”
She flexed her hand from a fist, to an open gesture several times. Emotions clearly swirling within her. “I-I-I-I don’t know. I thought it’d be different.”
“What?”
“This.” She gestured to me. “Us. I thought we’d be here, and we’d be happy. But everyone’s treating me like a traitor. I expected that, but but but I thought I’d be strong enough to protect you.” She was shaking. “I thought I’d love you enough to endure it all, but I don’t.”
I pulled myself off the floor, and sat on the couch. Everything is sore. “Do you still love me?”
“Yes.” It was just a whisper.
“I didn’t know. It must have been hard seeing that then.”
She nodded. “Reeducation, couldn’t even fix me.”
“Is loving me hurting anyone?”
“You.” She whispered again, in a half sob.
Woah, too real. At least she saw it. Man, that really set me off balance. I completely left the train of thought I was on. Maybe I’d done enough manipulating tonight, and it was time to just get real. “That’s true, you’ve pretty much ruined my life, and I don’t think I’m ever going to forgive you for that. But we can always try to do better tomorrow. Will you let me leave?” She shook her head, unable to look at me. “Then at least help me make this place better.”
“What do you mean?” She gave me an annoyed look, like I hadn’t just blackmailed my way into a blow job. “Skyros is a paradise.”
“C’mon, who’s paradise? You’re shunned, and called names and for what? Looking for love and companionship?”
“You just don’t understand it, you’re a man.”
Sigh. “I’ll never understand hating other people, you’re right.”
She shared in my sigh, and sat down on the coffee table. We’d made some real progress in understanding one another, but that chasm was just so far. “I’m going to take you out tomorrow.”
“Hmm?”
“We’re going to go on a date. I’ll show you. I’ll show you Skyros is a paradise. I’ll take you to all the best spots. You’ll see.” She nodded, seeming almost giddy at the idea. Maybe she’d dreamed of taking on this date while she was on the island.
“All I’ll see is more sexism, and homophobia...erm heterophobia.” Man as a lib, arguing for straight and men’s rights was really throwing me for a loop. Oh well. Hatred is all ultimately the same thing, regardless of who it targets, because it always always always targets the same thing, the other.
“Yesss.” She nodded, plowing through my protest rather than avoiding it. “But you’ll see all the things we gain from this place rather than loose. Society is all about trading individual rights for the benefits of civilization. I’ll show you how we can be content here.” She was so chipper, that I could hardly argue. I’d not seen her happy in a lifetime.
But more importantly, she’d just entered the denial stage, of metamorphosis.
A Date With Miranda?
