Chapter 3 by senbonzakura

What do you intend to do?

Go back

No.

You can't do it. You've relied on him enough and you've lowered yourself far more than you should have. Emotions are non-existent. Relying on your spirit and his devotion to you is foolish and you will have no part in demeaning either of you.

You stare down the path, questioning your desire. There's nothing he can help you with anyway. It was pointless to come here. He's been loyal to you, but you can't grow attached to him. Instead, you turn leave it and find yourself blinking around your room.

The candle's gone out, your zanpakutou before you and the night has deepened--clouds are covering the sky more heavily now. There's no point in leaving, since it may very well storm, so you take Senbonzakura and place him in his special case and settle back into your futon as the first drops of rain begin to fall.

Pitter. Patter. The soothing rhythm puts you into a light sleep.

What's next?
