Has Lois Made The Situation Better or Worse?

With a screech of stone-on-stone, a portion of the wall moved away to reveal a door. Not the exit that Lois had sought, since it was the opposite wall from which she had come in, yet a door was a door...and Lois picked herself up from off the golden dildo to examine it.

This door was made of stone, with elaborate iron hinges, painted black to ward against rust. There was no lock, just a kind of heavy catch, Lois lifted the lever and the door swung wide. Golden light spilled out from the room beyond, and for a moment Lois couldn't see.

Squinting against the brilliance, the reporter began to make out details. It was a room that appeared to be made of solid gold, smaller than the temple room. Another statue was seated on a kind of throne in the middle of the chamber. It resembled the demonic figure on the statue outside, except that it was smaller, more human in scale and features, and there was a blank concavity where its penis should be.

"This is like something from Tomb Raider," Lois muttered, and imagined herself as Lara Croft, here to steal the treasure of the ancients.

Not sure what else to do, Lois stepped into the room. The metal was cool beneath her bare feet, and she saw that the light in the room came from closed-circuit television monitors set near the ceiling above the door. The reporter noted that they covered all the entrances and exits of the club above.

Then she turned her eyes to the statue. As with the stone statue outside, it was a work of art, the carving in exquisite details, vivid and lifelike...except for the crotch, which was smooth and glassy. The reporter stared at the golden cock in her hands. The more she looked at it, the more it seemed like the two pieces might fit together.

"But is that a trap?" Lois wondered aloud, her voice reverberating oddly off the golden walls and ceiling.
