Chapter 9 by Adger
What does the object do?
Grants wishes
The artifact is called “The Philosopher’s Stone” and is said to be able to grant a wish through the use of alchemy.
According to the strings paths the stone was first discovered by Alexander Flammel. One of the most famous alchemists in history his reputation stemmed claiming to have created the stone. However according to your spiders web this seems to not be the case.
In fact your board suggests that he discovered it in a simple market. Flammels claim was met with serious disbelief in the broader Alchemical society of the time. This thankfully gave you a number of sources both trying to disprove it’s existence, and trace it’s true origin.
According to one Alchemist (name lost due to Damnatio Memoriae) he met with the Italian merchant who sold him a small pewter box containing a common amethyst. The merchant claimed that he had purchased the item from a woman in Cairo after having it appraised by a local gem expert. This would normally lend to the idea that it was looted from a near by tomb, but the boxes description does not match that of Egyptian origin.
What culture is it from?
