Chapter 10 by Adger
What culture is it from?
Norse
The box is described as being very simple in design and that despite being made out of the very cheap and fragile metal alloy pewter it was very plain and filled mostly with wood.
The ancient Norse had only very limited access to metal in their early years and to make an object of any size with any metal would have been quite the fine piece in their standards.
The box was inscribed not in words, but with images further lending itself to the idea that it was of Norse descent. This of course giving the fact that it took them such a long time to develop a written word.
The inscription on the box depicts a beautiful woman with long hair holding a gem out to a much smaller woman. Another inscription is said to show the smaller woman holding the stone high over a field full of crops and animals.
From your research you believe that the large woman is depicted to be the Norse goddess Freyja, but none of your research has discovered the identity of the smaller woman.
