Recruited

The following morning you receive word that your home is fixed and livable again. You and the girls pack up and get ready to leave, Maya pitching the idea of adding more monster girls to your little family the whole time. You’re not against the idea, but figure you should at least wait until you can protect everyone. You can’t stand the idea of someone in your life getting hurt. Maya agrees, albeit reluctantly.

As you finish packing, there’s a knock at the door. You’re surprised to open it and find Rachel standing there.

“Josh, before you go, I have something to ask of you. I want you to help us. It will probably be dangerous, but I think it will help you grow into your potential, plus...well, I think it’s something that you can be very helpful with.”

“What is it? Does it involve the HPP?”

“It does. I spoke with a friend of yours this morning, a diner owner named Daisy, you know her?”

You nod. You and the girls had made a point of visiting the diner regularly, and every time Daisy would visit, sharing stories of her son and his monster girl harem. She was a genuinely nice woman, and you still needed to follow through on your promise to meet her son.

“Well, this morning she called us in tears. She had been on her way to visit her son, Ethan. As you know, Ethan is another sponsor. She arrived at his house and witnessed him and his monster girls, chained up and being loaded into a truck. Fortunately for us, she had the presence of mind to follow them, and she found out where they were taken.”

Rachel hands you a large photo, and you recognize the building immediately. “This building is where they went? But...I own this place, or at least my company does.”

Rachel nods, “That’s what I thought, and why we are coming to you. We don’t know if that’s the local headquarters or if it’s just a holding area, but we do know that kidnapped monster girls are generally not seen again. Since you own the company, you stand the best chance of getting in there.”

You look at the picture again. As far as you knew, it was just a storage warehouse, and you never paid much attention to it. Your complacency of the past few years has ended up hurting people.

“I’ll do it. If the company I own is a part of this, it’s my responsibility to clean it up.”

You look at your girls as you say this, and see approval on all their faces. “Will you girls help me? It will be risky for you too.”

All three nod. “Anna, I can’t ask you to do this, you don’t have any...”

Anna cuts you off, “There’s no way I’m letting you leave me behind, master. I may not have powers or strength, but I’m pretty smart, and you’ll need all the help you can get. Plus...I know some things that may help, I can pick a lock and most people overlook a little woman like me.”

“Fine, just be careful. That goes for all of you. I don’t want any of you getting hurt.”

Turning back to Rachel, you nod. “Ok, we’re in. Anything else we should know?”

Rachel smiles gratefully. “Come with me then, I have some things to help you.”

She leads you into a meeting room, and several cases lay on the table. “First, would all of you accept an official invitation to be members of the AWIO?”

The four of you nod, and Rachel hands each of you a card key. “Now you can come and go from this building as you please. When you’re done here I’ll take you to transportation, you can use one of our vehicles so they don’t know you left here, in case they’re watching for you. Also, I’m giving Josh access to the organization Auctions. You can get more powerful items through that. Do not **** it, please.”

You nod, and she continues. “Now, how many powers do you have free?”

“Two, the telekinesis wore off this morning.”

Rachel nods, opening one of the cases. “This is the stun rod they attacked with the other day. You will be able to knock someone out with a touch. It’s not harmful.”

She opens another, “This is harmful, however. The best way to describe it is as a basic magic projectile. Basically a magical bullet, though less powerful than a gun would be. You could still kill someone if you’re not careful, so use it only if you have to.”

She looks you in the eyes, “We are putting a lot of trust in you, please don’t **** it. We don’t know if there are other captives in the warehouse, but we know Ethan and his girls are there. Free anyone you can. Once you are ready to leave, use this.”

Rachel opens the last case, and inside is a simple controller with a single button. “This will call in a driver with a van to collect anyone you find. Thank you for doing this, Josh. And all of you. Please be careful.”
