Return?
Return for a different girl
With a flick of your wrist you reappear below in the central room on the second floor. Next to you, Kerritan thumps down hard on the floor, released from your control. She doesn't even try to lift herself. Her shell-shocked stare reaches across the room, not even seeing her fellow walkers. You give her a rough shove across the floor with your foot.
Marait merely watches you with angry eyes. She seems to have recovered a little from her morning's torments, but her eyes are haunted and she doesn't go to Kerritan to help her. Litessa can't even watch; she huddles in a corner, still shirtless, her fresh scars shining on her back. Ura, the dark-haired woman, starts to move slowly to Kerritan's side and help her away from you. You casually allow her to do so, knowing that no amount of coddling will undo the evening's work, before gesturing and throwing her back against the wall.
It is now full dark, and you select the World-Walker to finish your day's diversions. You walk over to Ura, gripping her by the hair, and lift her up to her feet. Locking your arm around her throat, you both vanish.
You take the two of you to another room of the tower. It is large, probably taking up the entire floor of the tower. It has an enormous open window on the south side, but no light comes through from the dark sky. You gesture and the torches in the room burst to life. Through the window is the open sea. The room is strangely furnished: fountains litter the floor spewing water into the air. A deep pool fills the center of the room, and what seem to be small streams and rivulets carve across the floor. You release her throat and turn in a circle. "I built my tower here to enjoy the best aspects of all this land had to offer. You and your companions probably chose it for much the same reasons. A pity you couldn't truly enjoy the full effect without being able to teleport throughout it. We're on the fourth level; the third, naturally, is the cliffs, the fifth forest, and the sixth earth. I thought you'd find this level the most... intense. You're a tough woman of stone, born to the deep places with low roofs and low light. Dry, hot places too, deep in the earth. Open, wet, bright... this room is especially frightening, is it not? But I apologize for my rudeness; I have only talked, never listening. You are Ura." The statement is not a question.
