Chapter 8 by TheLeherengin TheLeherengin

What should Yulia do next?

The Gate

Yulia sits on the chair, breathing in and out, getting a bit of rest as she listens to the voices. As usual the mean voice is chastising her, "I'm just a bit worn out, okay... I kind of fled that room in a panic. Give me a few seconds and I'll be fine," she responds angrily as she remains sitting. Another voice seemed to be trying to help and she was grateful for it, though something about the way the voice told her to imagine getting a massage from her goddess made Yulia feel strangely uncomfortable. Her thighs pressing together as she momentarily imagines the idea and then quickly dispels the notion. After a few minutes of listening to the voices, and especially enjoying one of the voices calling her sweet, It was nice to have at least one of the voices being nice to her, especially since the mean voice was still being well... mean, she stood up from the chair.

She turned to look at the stairs heading back down. She wondered if maybe the mean voice did indeed have a point. She'd never heard of anyone coming back out of the tower without having conquered it though. She wasn't sure if she even could leave now. She does know that she'd never be able to face anyone back home if she gave up now though and returned empty handed.

A few of the voices suggested creating a weapon out of the chair. She wasn't sure about that idea, but she supposed a weapon could be helpful. Especially if she ran into an enemy that would be immune to her poisons. She picked up the chair with a slight struggle and attempted to smash it against the floor, it hit the floor and bounced though the back legs did splinter and break off it also bounced back and hit her in the chest knocking her onto her ass. She releases the now broken chair and got back up rubbing her breasts where the chair had slammed against her. She growled. She knew the voices would probably laugh at her for that. Still she takes one of the broken leg pieces. It seems she had a makeshift weapon now. It was about a foot long and the end where it had been attached to the chair had splintered quite a bit resulting in jagged pieces of wood. It would be a potentially useful weapon, but probably wouldn't last very long.

With that done she approaches the wooden door, glancing over at the frosted door and thinking about the weight in her hands, but while some of the voices did want her to try and smash it, more seemed intent on checking the wooden door for now. The wooden door is not locked in any way and opens easily. She doesn't enter just yet, looking around carefully for traps. There is in fact a trip wire directly in front of the door and it appears to be attached to a vial suspended above the door. She steps over the trap and then removes the vial taking it and putting it with her stuff. She'd have to figure out what was in it later. She takes the trip wire as well. The room is a fairly small room. Just a simple square and on the opposite end of the room, a set of stairs heading up to the next floor of the tower. The room seems empty, but the emptiness has an ominous feeling to it. There are small indents in the ceiling in a half circle around the stairs leading up. Yulia is very hesitant to enter this room, her hands gripping the chair leg tightly.
