Chapter 6 by Kakakuku Kakakuku

What's next?

Wholesomeness and Efficiency

Telsia was already awaiting at the gates of the monastery when the two of them pulled up to it. Their mounts were stowed and they were greeted warmly by the servants.

“Paladin, and High Cleric Caras of Pholis! It is an honor for you all to be seen again, and together.”

“Turns out the world is smaller than we think all the time,” Caras joked lamely and all the servants laughed with exxaggerated cartoonishness. They took their stuff to get it properly secured and have every refillable refilled.

“I didn’t know you were so familiar with the Fifth Monastery,” Serena said as they walked through the monastery hallways where they would be separately welcomed by different parties.

“I used to be here quite a bit actually, before my adventuring days. I hope nothing has changed.”

Caras knew something about the head brothers that ran this monastery, all high Clerics like him, and just as unhinged and perverted. The clerics of Abaroth were some of the most respected and powerful men in the Kingdom, for everyone worshipped Abaroth and so the voices of god on earth and their suggestions on his behalf were to be equally respected. And so many young, supple pieces of flesh had passed through the monasteries, from noble ladies to foreign messengers, nuns, priestesses, so many of the paladins and even the queen, and they all took dick in their holes and left with new respect for the men of the cloth.

“You must be very happy to be back here,” Serena interrupted his flow of thoughts, and he realized he was beaming from ear to ear.

“Yes, well, I can sense destiny calling. Once we’re done here and move on, we make history, save the princess and enact justice where it needs to be.”

Serena seemed to be surprised by his sudden spirit of readiness to fulfil the mission. “Amen!” She said, bowing her head in prayer briefly. He did the same thing,

Some paladins came to take her aside, and he was whisked away by some clerics, who took him to his quarters. He didn’t recognize any faces, and it seemed that, like him, many of the others had left for greener pastures. It seemed though that Brother Francis was still in charge, which was excellent because it meant it was unlikely things had changed.

One of the servants returned to inform him that the Elder Clerics wanted to see him, and it wouldn’t just be him. He had come right on time, because there were some things being reformed by the church, in the greater interest of wholesomeness and efficiency.

Does he go to the meeting?
