An unlikely turn of events

If the part in Ms. Fischer, who was always very concerned about safety, had now weighed and analyzed every possibility, she was in no way composed or prepared for the actual development:

"I wanted to speak to you ... to explain my point of view on the Mandy matter."

Ms. Fischer was flabbergasted.

Completely absurd and surreal!

A person shaped by logic, like Ms. Fischer as a math and computer science teacher, she didn't believe a word of the guy!

She snorted, after her last male experience with her unfaithful ex, she was in for a riot in matters of the opposite sex anyway.
