Get some supplies.

You look over at the two girls lying on your bed. Although you would like nothing more than to stick around and comfort them, the very real need for resupply is a priority. You reach into your pocket, pulling out your gun. Checking the safetey, you hand the pistol, butt first to Brittney.

"I'm leaving for a little bit." you explain, viewing the nervous look on her face. "If anybody comes down here who isn't me, take it off safety."

"Will you be gone long?" Erin peeks out from the covers, an anxious expression crossing her features.

"Hopefully, not too long." You cross to the door, unbolting it. "One of you should lock this after me. I'll call out when I get back, so you know it's me."

Brittney rises from the makeshift bed, and follows after you. Her face stares at you for a moment after you exit, then she shuts the door rapidly, and you hear the lock being drawn. Quickly, you move to the emergency stairwell, and open the door carefully.

The Stairway is as deserted as always, and you ascend the stairs two at a time, trying to spend as little time as possible in an enclosed area unarmed. The door at the top of the stairwell opens as easily as before, and you once again make your way into the deserted mall.

No movement greets your vision, as you proceed along the hallways. The silence is occasionally broken by sounds of wind, and once or twice you think you hear a birdsong. You wonder what exactly would be the best move to make first.

You know that there is a sporting goods store in this mall. Although it will likely be looted, the best possibility for finding some sort of armament will be there. In addition, you could use some more light, and camping gear would be a welcome luxury that you could use. On the other hand, food will be a problem soon. There is a grocery store across the parking lot, and you originally looted from there before taking refuge in the mall. Perhaps you should head back there, and try to get some more supplies. You figure that there should be enough to give Brittney and Erin time to rest up.
