Chapter 10 by TheTruePenguin TheTruePenguin

What does the next day bring?

1,2,3,4, Day-to-Day is a Bore

You'd barely even started your next day when Madelyn called you into her office, some papers clutched in her hand. Seeing you arrive, she got straight to business.

"Translucent is missing..." She let that statement hang in the air, not that it phased you, you knew this was coming, and you knew the way it would end if you didn't interfere which you weren't inclined to. But...

"How can that be, I thought we had trackers in all of the Seven?" You asked 'worriedly'.

"We do, best case scenario right now is that he purposefully blocked the signal and he's hanging out at some strip club VIP room." Stillwell replied as you crossed your arms.

"And the worst case scenario is that he somehow got captured, and they removed his tracker, which is terrifying because that means they got through his skin." You countered as Madelyn turned to look you in the eye.

"You can't say that, if word got out about the possibility of that, there would be uproar in the streets, the people need to believe our heroes are invincible." Stillwell hissed under her breath.

"I disagree, but technically you're higher on the food chain, so I guess I'll defer to your aged wisdom." You snarked back as Madelyn dropped the glare.

"I'll keep looking into it, keep me upraised, if the situation doesn't improve, someone is going to have to explain it to the news. I guess I'll go get someone to cover for Translucent." You muttered as you turned on your heel, leaving the office, your mind already moving the pieces around.

==================================================================================================

"Star, can I speak to you in my office for a second?" You asked as you spotted the white-clad blonde roaming the halls.

"Um, sure." She replied smartly, following you into your self-made office.

"You've gotten your first assignment, a night patrol." You informed Star as her eyes lit up with a dull glow as her smile lit up the room.

"Yay, I promise I'll do an excellent job!" The cheery Idahoan?, where was Des Moines again, assured you.

"Woah, hold on sailor. While I have no doubt you can handle things alone, let's be honest, Supers aren't glorified cops, they're tanks, one should be able to handle almost any problem, still, company policy is that all patrols be attended by two members especially if it's your first time." You said, handing over a second sheet of paper with a second bio.

Starlight stared at you for a few seconds, probably debating where to start.

"Oh okay, but back home, I usually did all my patrols by myself, I mean I know the proper procedure, don't kill unless you have to, don't needlessly destroy evidence, I'm sure I can do all that solo right?" Star said hopefully, leading you to believe she hadn't even looked at the paper you just handed her.

"Like I said, I think you'd be fine on your own, but company policy says, coupling is required." You said as Star pouted, her eyes glancing at the paper of her assigned partner before whipping back up to you, you already braced for the coming yell.

"I'm stuck with Deep, that can't be right! He's a ****..." Star whispered the last part, as if half the Supers in the building couldn't hear her.

"While that may be true, you never reported it, and so nothing can be done about it. On top of that, you're patrolling the docks, of course they were going to send Deep, and finally you're the newest member of the team and he's the weakest, the diversity recruit, who else would you suggest they send on a basic patrol, Homelander and Maeve?" You retorted as Star looked caught between undisguised irritation and barely concealed embarrassment.

"Please don't make me do this Nick." Star said as you sighed.

"I'm not making you do this, Vought is. You really think I'm okay with sending you out on patrol with him after what he did?" You said as Starlight looked away, glancing out the window at the world outside the tower.

"Isn't there something you can do, you know as team manager?" She asked, grasping at straws.

"As I said before, I'm just the manager, I don't own the team. The minute you signed that contract with Vought, you sold your own personal rights. Considering there has been ideas bandied about in meeting about a Homelander dildo, it wouldn't surprise me of they come to you some day wanting to market a fleshlight modeled after you." You informed the blonde as she looked weirded out. "But, I suppose there is one thing I could do, but it's ****, and it'll have a high price." You said, approaching the girl around the table.

"What?" Star whispered, noticing your close proximity.

"Take off you clothes." You ordered and Star's eyes went wide before glancing around, looking first at the door, and then behind her at the window.

"NO!" She finally spat out angrily, her hands clenched in a fist and a dull glow in her eyes.

"Good girl, keep that steely fire and you'll go far here. Still though..." You trailed off as the second Star had lowered her guard you'd grabbed her, claiming her lips with your own.

Star was obviously caught off guard, a low moan echoing through her body as you made her lips slightly more sensitive before she found herself again, pushing you away, that fire back in her eyes.

Only, you weren't you anymore as the same glowing eyes stared back at Star with a much more cocksure expression, your now blonde hair falling down as you ran your hands along the curves of your body, lingering momentarily on your beasts and ass, giving a little wiggle.

"So, what do you say 'sis' it'll be just like in high school when I covered for you with that disgusting pig who asked you out, nobody wanted to mess with you after that." Apparently hearing her own voice speaking to her was too much for Starlight as she slumped into a chair.

==================================================================================================

It was several hours later, you had resumed your normal appearance, and gender, although you'd altered your eyes to a haunting ice blue for now when you ran into Homelander, a veiled smile taking its place on your countenance.

"Hello John, what a pleasure running into you today, I was wondering if we might speak for a moment... privately!?" You said, not waiting for an answer as you turned into the next door, which which a random break room, how convenient, less convenient was the several employees sitting on the couch, sipping at their instant coffee and munching on danishes.

"Hi guys, I was wondering if we might have the room for just a teensy moment?" You inquired, and although anyone who didn't know you would probably mistake the childish tone and words, your piercing eyes and reputation said all they needed to as the other residents quickly vacated the room, the last one actually running into Homelander on the way out.

"You wanted to talk, Nick?" Homelander said, his eyes all but glaring at you.

"Yes, I wanted to talk to you about a little rumor I heard. A mayor that we were doing business with went down, he died as did everyone on board, I was just wondering if we'd heard anything about that?" You asked, knowing full well how this conversation, read:threat, was going to progress.

"He was blackmailing Madelyn, why do you keep treating it like I did a bad thing, I protected her! I protected Vought! How did he even find out about Compound V!?" Homelander snarled.

"Well," You kept your genial tone for all of three seconds, "We might could've figured that out if you hadn't killed him dumbass! Really, laser-beams, if someone with even half a brain cell sees how clean those cut were, you won't just be on the trial, you'll be taking a merry stroll to the chopping block!" You yelled, thankfully the room seemed to be at least moderately sound-proofed given how no one came running to check on us, or maybe they just didn't want to get the middle of this.

"Oh like you're any better, you probably wanted to silence him too. You're just angry that I got there first, that I got the credit!" Homelander spat back, surprisingly his eyes not glowing yet, although the fact that you were standing in the middle of Vought Towers may have something to do with it, collateral damage would be massive.

"Excuse me, I'm mad that someone else got the credit, I'm not you, you adulation whore! Besides the fact that I could care less, I did get there first, and planned for a lot less cleanup, before he left I shook his hand and performed a little covert surgery/ sabotage on his heart. He'd've been dead before they ever landed wherever they were going. I'm mad because you not only didn't run your cockamamie plan by anyone, you let a massive mess that someone, namely ME, has to clean up!" You said with as much vitriol as you could, which was more than you expected as for just the minutest moment Homelander refused to meet your glare.

"That's all, now if you'll excuse me, some of us have actually work to do not bringing down the cursed house of cards!" You yelled over your shoulder as you left the room.

Is everyone having a good time?
