You just can't turn down a mystery

Okay, so while you may not know what's what on this station, you just can't help yourself. A station as advanced as this, and it's having power troubles? Something is up here, and you just have to find out what. Who can just ignore a good mystery? Not you, that's for certain. Thus, the hunt is on!

It's not like you are some super sleuth though, you do what pretty much anyone would do, and that's stand up and stare dumbly around the room. Nobody ever accused you of being a genius. You look up at the ceiling lights, as if you could somehow mysteriously track the wires through the wall and- Well that's interesting. The lights did actually have panels of glowing lights running from them, and they ran right out the door.

Field trip time it seems, and you had to leave your room eventually anyways. So without preamble, you open the door and step outside, following the glowing panels. You didn't have to go too far, because the lights to the left led directly to an open panel you could see from your doorway. An open panel which, incidentally, had a tail sticking out of it.

Walking up to the panel carefully, you notice the occasional spark of electricity coming from within. It seems your presence is unnoticed though, so you give a polite cough eliciting a cute 'eep' and the tail vanished. After a moment of what sounded like panicked scrambling, a pair of paw-like hands appears at the edge of the opening, followed by an oddly attractive face. A mouse? No, the ears were all wrong, and the muzzle too wide. You'll have to coax her out to get a decent look.

In the cutest little voice, she speaks. "O-Oh... Um, hello? I was just ummm..." She looks around nervously, "Please don't tell on me, I'll leave, I'll even put everything back together. I'm good at that, really. I don't want to be taken away!"

She looks to be almost in tears. Well, she obviously wasn't supposed to be here, and she definitely wasn't supposed to be doing whatever it was she was doing. Your curiosity was piqued, and being the first truly alien creature you've met on this station you really wanted to get to know her. There was your guide, yes, but this creature was something fully inhuman.

Still, if she was doing something illegal, then wasn't it kind of your duty to report her? Or you could take the middle ground and act as though you never saw her in the first place. After all, she might actually be dangerous for all you know. Decisions, decisions...
