Chapter 3 by Bookmite Bookmite

What was your answer?

Yes, of course

You were stunned to say the least but, well, here you are so you obviously said yes. The week following was a rush of Government officials rushing you from place to place to give long-winded speeches about how to 'properly' represent yourself, telling you not to divulge secrets while at the same time telling you to try and steal secrets. The hell kind of secrets could you possibly give out anyways? You ignored them all. You even tried to go to back to work on Monday, but it seems the Government thought ahead as you were already on a month-long paid leave.

Well, what now? I can only assume this is supposed to be my room for the next month, but- You happen to look over towards the door and there is a woman standing there silently. Her slightly bluish skin offset by light white fur that covered her shoulders, down her sides, around her hips, and continuing down the sides of her legs. A little taller than you were, she wore a simple one-piece turtleneck dress in shades of blue and violet. Her face, while strikingly pretty, actually slid gracefully outward. You wouldn't call it a muzzle per se, but it did give that impression. Her eyes though... Were staring right into yours.

"Getting a good look, are we?" She said, her voice sounding soft but stern, "It's fine, in fact I'm rather flattered. My species tends to be more on the muscular side, but I'm sort of the odd one out. Nice to see that someone appreciates a good woman when they see her! But that's not why I'm here, at least for now. I'm here for your orientation, basically to tell you the ins and outs during your stay. May I have a seat?"

You motion for her to take a seat on one of the less gaudy pieces of furniture and take a seat across from her. "I must admit, I'm still a bit turned around by all of this. From what I've been told, I'm actually the first of my species to visit, I'm supposed to be some sort of ambassador, and that fact is absolutely terrifying."

She giggles a bit behind a hand, "Oh, don't worry about all of that. The whole ambassador thing is just something we had to say to appease all those hoity-toity Government officials. While you are technically a representative of your species, that really just means 'don't be a creep'. As for the rest..."

Handing you a simple object that looks like a e-reader she continues, "That is your Compendium, meaning your guide to all currently known races within the multiverse. You simply type in the name of a race or look it up through the scroll-down menu on the side. If you don't know the name of the species, just press the little camera in the corner and it will list them by pictures. It won't tell you anything about an individual being, but it will give you general information such as history, habits, warnings, sexual compatibility, level of-"

"Wait, " you say quickly, "Did you just say sexual compatibility?"

With a grin she nods, "When we say this resort is designed for species to relax and have fun, we mean it. In fact, we encourage it! When you first came to the station, you had to breathe in the Zero Particle Bots in the air which allow your brain to translate any known spoken language, monitor your body, and even automatically treat you of afflictions. This means you can 'enjoy' yourself without having to worry about anything. Of course, for the time being, the sexual compatibility portion won't really pertain to you. Being the first of your species here, we won't know about compatibility until sexual relations are attempted."

"Now the last bit. On your Compendium is also a station map, any area marked in red are danger areas, that is to say areas which may result in injury. These areas are not technically off limits, but we suggest great care if you choose to visit them. The areas in yellow are the off-limit areas, which are areas such as security, administrative offices, and so on. The areas in blue are such things as guest quarters and the like, off-limits unless you are personally invited."

"And that concludes the tutorial section! Heh. Anytime you need something, just use your Compendium, it has all sorts of neat little features if you play with it enough. You're free to go anywhere you like, save for those already mentioned. So go and have fun. Unless, of course, you would like to have some 'fun' right now?"

What is your choice?
