Route 201-2 (Victory P1)

A few battles later you exit out of the tall grass and into an open portion of the path. Still blocked in on both sides by trees the path before you is very straight-forward. Your Starly and Piplup have both gotten stronger on the path through the grass. A couple more Bidoof and wild Starly attacked as you passed through and noon is quickly approaching as you make your way along the path. The breeze is gentle, the weather warm, and your day is going very well as both of your Pokémon have handled their battles well, taking little in terms of damage.

Before you, to your joy is a distinct lack of trainers. A single Poke Mart employee stands offering free samples near the town ahead and a few people, not trainers, are traveling to or from Sandgem Town for groceries and other resources. Before you is one more long patch of tall grass, and once through that you'll be in the next town over! A wave of excitement washes over you at how outstandingly well your first route is going. You approach the Poke Mart employee.

"Excuse me! Miss!" She calls out getting your attention. "I'm handing out free samples from the Poke Mart in Sandgem to any passing Trainers. Here." She hands you a potion. "Make sure to stop and visit our store okay?"

"Thank you! I will." You respond putting the potion into your bag. It's the only healing item you have on you and it isn't much, but it means you'll be better off should you be challenged to a battle. You approach the tall grass before you standing at the last hurdle to your first successful day as a Pokémon Trainer. "I can do this." You say with confidence heading into the dense foliage.

Quickly you are attacked by more Bidoof and Starly, and your Piplup and Starly manage to quickly dispatch them all. but your Pokémon are now growing tired, and weary due to repeated battles. A few more battles though and you step out the opposite side of the tall grass. Your Piplup now knows Bubble, and your Starly has learned Quick Attack!

You walk into the quite Sandgem town cautious and looking for other trainers. Just because you come from a town way out of the way, doesn't mean there won't be men here waiting to use your body. The thought sends a thrill through you, though you aren't sure why. As you walk down the street the door next to you bursts open and someone comes sprinting out and directly into you knocking you to the ground.

You're about to get angry at them when Barry sits up looking very apologetic. "Sorry Dawn! I was just so excited! That old man is super nice! He even! Oh, sorry Dawn I have to get going!" He shouts everything quickly before bursting to his feet and running off towards the next town. Standing you turn to face the building he came out of. The words "Pokémon Research Lab" stand big and proud along the top. You take a deep breath. This may be where you part with your buddy Piplup. Steeling yourself, you enter the building.
