"Josh, how about I wait out here and you check inside?" Diane suggests.

He gave her an annoyed look, then sighed. "Okay, I can do that." He whispers. "You'll call me if you see her?"

"I promise," she says before Josh heads for the house.

"Do you want me to show you around?" Melanie asked.

"Thanks, but I'll be all right," Josh assures, not really wanting to have an awkward conversation should he bump into Melanie's aunt.

"The first few hot dogs are done if you want some, Diane," Mr. Stevens offers.

"Maybe later, not really hungry right now Thanks though, Mr. Stevens." Diane says, smiling at the handsome older man.

"Hey none of that "sir" stuff. Makes me feel old. Call me Luke," he insisted with a charming smile.

"Okay, Luke," Diane says, smiling back at him.

"Hey Mel, I've got some more meat in the cooler in the back garage. Could you help me with it?" Luke asked the Latina girl.

"Sure! Be right back, Diane!" Melanie says with enthusiasm.

Diane had been starts looking around when she did a sudden double take. Had she seen that right? She could have sworn he saw Luke reach down and pinch Melanie's butt.

"Oh you scheming little hussy," Diane says with a grin, following after them.
