Chapter 179 by Fiend21 Fiend21

What's next?

Lukas explains the plan

"Alright, so it's so easy, even Ben can understand it. We ditch out of the dorm through the hole in one of the unused rooms on the bottom floor. Then, we sneak out the bathroom window that'll lead into. Now that curfew's on, no one's around to bother us. Head into the woods, get up to the school, pop our masks on, sneak in and then we're golden. At that point, it's a quick jog to the Principal's office, pick the lock open, grab the tests and get the fuck out of there the same way we got in. Cool?"

"That's not a bad plan. That could work for us," you nod.

The four of you change into darker clothing, hoping to better blend in with the shadows, and hoping that if the cameras catch you, they don't realize you're students trying to steal tests and instead think you're hapless thieves foolish enough to think there's a big cash payout. Ideally, no one will ever know you were here, but its best to plan for failure. You find a pair of dark jeans and a black hoody that suffice, as well as some muddy black boots.

Once you're changed, you decide to have a few shots of **** for your courage. Pouring shots of vodka into plastic cups, you quickly neck 'em back as you begin to converse. Daniel seems worried, but that lessens after you switch to jaeger and cheap energy drinks, downing cups of the stuff as Ben makes wild assertions about how he could take Bigfoot in a fight because Bigfoot's a natural coward and he's especially loud, which frightens woodland animals. Joints are soon lit as you take turns standing by the window to blow out mouthfuls of smoke, as the drink of choice turns to whiskey by necessity as the jaeger runs dry. The conversation drifts from how you'd cook a person if you had to eat one, to whether or not a sufficiently prepared Kevin from Home Alone could defeat a Terminator Series 800 to discussing aliens.

"I'm telling you, First Contact is going to be a fucking shitshow. Stephen Hawking said so himself," Lukas says, taking a deep drag. "Every time an advanced population, the aliens, meets a less advanced population, us, it's a fucking catastrophe. If we're lucky, we're going in a fucking people zoo. That's assuming the fuckers don't just, like destroy our civilization with sound waves they've evolved to hear that blow us to pieces, or gas us because they communicate with fuckin' chlorine gas like..."

A loud beeping cuts Lukas off, as he checks his phone, before slinging on his backpack.

"Shit, it's twelve."

"Let's move," Ben says."

Time to act. Admittedly, you actually feel pretty confident about this plan.

You rise on unsteady feet, realizing the liquor's gotten to your head.

Huh. You guess that that's where the confidence has come from.

The four of you disembark, heading through the halls and down to the bottom floor, popping into the unused room. The beds are bare, no sheets or anything on them, the mattresses old and dirty. The counter tops are bare, a strange smell drifting off a few mysterious stains on the floor. The place is terrible, really. You understand why even though the place is empty, it isn't the type of place you'd want to stay in if you had any other options. Lukas and Ben move over to the wardrobe, shoving it out of the way to reveal a large section of the wall has been destroyed, leaving a large gap, just big enough to crawl through. Daniel's slender frame easily slides through, with Lukas managing to dive halfway through and let Daniel drag him through. Ben's muscular frame struggles considerably more to get through, but once he has his broad shoulders through after some wiggling and pulling, he manages to make You dive through yourself, Ben giving you a tug as you tumble through the hole, coming out right into the disused bathroom covered in stained and broken tiles. You pop open the window with the broken lock, clambering quickly through that in a similar fashion, and head towards the woods.

You walk quickly, keeping your heads low as you head quickly into the woods. Once you're in the safety of the foliage, safe from any spying eyes or cameras, you slow down. Lukas lights another joint as you walk, staring at the school in the distance.

"Ready for this?" he says, passing the joint over to you.

"Aye, I am," you said, having a deep toke before passing it on again.

You finish the joint as you watch the building for signs of activity, before feeling satisfied you're ready to strike as a joint is grinded under heel.

"Let's move."
