Become one with Lightning

Unlike the other trials however the void did not move you in fact nothing happened but then it did happen it began to rain. Dark clouds formed all of a sudden high above the clouds. You looked around as a storm began to brew a violent storm merciless storm by the looks of it.

The wind was raging blowing everything in its path, the rain pelted at you relentlessly while thunder could be heard high in the skies. You were getting soaked and then something changed the atmosphere was terrifying it felt angry as if you had pissed someone off. Your courage began to waive as the storm intensified then a bolt of lightning struck the peak a few feet away from you.

You took a step back in fear no you had to stand firm. You took a step forward looking up the sky. Another crack then another bolt of lightning hit a few inches closer to you. Your heart dropped as you looked up once more before you heard another crack of thunder you closed your eyes.

“Don’t be scared darling its just a storm.” A woman’s voice said you felt arms wrap around you holding you close to a her chest. “I am scared mom.” You replied as you held onto your mother’s arms. You could feel your mother stroke your hair before she spoke. “Remember lightning will strike once twice maybe a third time Nathan but no matter where you go or what storm you face you don’t need to be afraid.” You looked up at your mother’s green eyes. “Why aren’t you scared mom?” You said as she looked down at you. Your mother smiled “I don’t need to be scared darling because I have you right next to me.” She said smiling. “And you don’t have be scared you know why?” You only nodded before she smiled that smile that always comforted you. “Because no matter where you go I will always be with you.” She said as she rubbed her nose against yours making you laugh your fear of the storm long gone.

You opened your eyes “Fear is an Illusion of the mind and I am not scared!” You shouted into the storm as it began to become more violent soon trees were being uprooted the rain was now pouring soaking you from head to toe. Then time slowed you could see every drop of water begin to slow, the winds felt like a breeze, then you saw a bright flash you heard the crack of thunder before you felt it. You could feel the intense pain as the lightning scared your body baptizing you in pain. Then as suddenly as the pain had started it stopped and then Darkness consumed you.
