Chapter 4 by SillyGoose SillyGoose

What does White do?

Lies and says the interview went well

following shortly behind Dillon who was carving away a path through the crowd, White decides that if he does the practical examination, he can prove his capability to the HTA and be accepted. Walking through the white door to the changing room, White is taken aback by the sight, it was truly incredible; it was huge, rows on rows of changing blocks ranging from giant cubicles all the way down to tic tac sized cubicles, of course to accommodate all powers which might be accepted into the hero ****. After a few more minutes of wandering through the maze of corridors, Dillon stops at a cubicle which was designed for 'normal' sized humans.

"go on! i'm dying to see your costume!" Dillon exclaimed, it was true that up until this point Dillon had never seen Whites costume before and for (at least in Drew's eyes) good reason; Dillon is a hassle, you show him something and then he instantly wants to improve and leave his mark on it; but not White's Hero costume; that was his.

Drew entered the cubicle and began to undress, once done, he opened his suitcase and began getting dressed. First was the essentials, the minimum equipment all hero's must wear except in certain scenarios, as per the guidelines state,

'for heroes who wish for an armour of the medium variant; your suit must contain these minimum items;

a chest plate going from the bottom of the neck to the lowest rib bone, the material in question must be strong enough to withstand 2 consecutive bullets from a SA80 from a 50ft then 100ft range from any angle except the extremities leaving only minimal, non lethal damage to the wearer and;

a pliable footwear must be used; it must cover the shin and 1/3 of your thigh, the footwear must be waterproof, made of a non-conductive material, and be able to withstand an attack from a M3 Trench Knife with 30 Newtons of **** applied parallel to the direction of stabbing (exception made once again for the extremities), and on the topic of the soul, although your recommended to wear footwear over it, the soul needs to be sturdy enough so that a a 50mm x 2.65mm round nail doesn't puncture when a **** equal to 1.5 times your bodyweight is applied and the soul needs to be flexible enough that it can be bent to touch the top of the heel (which can be no longer than 2 inches) with minimum effort;

somewhere on your costume must also be a hidden weapon which can be retrieved and put into a defencing or offensive position within 3 seconds from rest position (relaxed, arms by your side and feet shoulder width apart) and also from 4 of the 7 main grapple positions listed in the basic self defence manual, the weapon in question must be designed to kill a trained assailant with training against said weapon, this weapon is for worse case scenarios where your power is redundant against your foe.'

For new recruits, the minimum equipment is pretty standardised, and White was one for following rules, so he didn't deviate much from the standard equipment except for his hidden weapon of which he had two; a slightly retractable bow staff hidden in the back of his chest guard, and a 7 inch flat throwing knife by his shin.

Once he finished putting them on, he then moved to accessories, which for his was his pride; White had spent the last few months designing and perfecting his hero outfit, and now he can finally put it on. First he put on a pair of white formal trousers but designed to not impede on his movements too drastically and then he put on the main showpiece, a snow white trench coat with extended collar covering his neck, curving down to his waist, tightened by an inbuilt white belt, before flourishing out into 6 long white ribbons which floated gently in the air. White adored his outfit, he felt fantastic, his dreams of becoming a hero finally felt like they would come true.

White spends a couple more minutes admiring himself in the mirror until he hears a banging at the cubicle door followed by a beckoning from a familiar voice,

"Come of Whitey, how long does it take to get changed?! I want to see your outfit."

"i'm coming, i'm coming."

Opening the door, White is quickly taken back by Dillon's hero outfit, it was bright; the thing seemed to contain more vastly contrasting colours than White even knew existed; it actually hurt Drew to look at the suit for too long. White attempts to make a comment but fails and just stumbled over his own words. Dillon took the initiative and spoke first,

"So... White. I see you stuck with a theme."

"oi! don't judge, at least I have a colour palette."

They continue to laugh and exchange insults for a while.

"we best get going, we don't want to be late.", White interjects before Dillon says something he will regret.

"Sure White! lets go"

they both leave back to the crowd of people getting ready for the practical assessment.

What does White do when he arrives at the group?
